This seems to be a comman fault with alot of monitors, the problem is caused by faulty componants on the power board called capacitors.

If you have soldering skills and a bit electronic knowledge its an easy repair and one that you could try yourself.

Unplug from the mains and remove the back of the monitor, there should only be a couple of screws holding it and the rest will just plastic clips along the outer rim just prise it gently apart. Once open look for the board that normally has the power cable connected to it, this should be the power board. On this board there will be several can shaped componants with silver tops, these are the capacitors.

Capacitors act like resevoirs of a electricity, they hold a charge and release it slowly when needed, however they somtimes fail, to spot a faulty capacitor look for any dark brown liquid residue either on the capacitor itself on on the board surrounding the capacitor.
The other is to look along the top of the capacitors, if they are completly flat along the surface then the capacitors are fine, if you can see a slight domed top or protusions then the capacitors are blown and need replacing.

Buying new capacitors for the board can be quite easy there are lots of online electronic shops that supply them, but before you purchase insure you have the right value capacitors. To check the value of a capacitor is to look down the side of it and there will be 2 values 1 marked with a "uf" and the other marked with a "V". "uf" stands for micro farad and "V" stands for voltage, so it will something like this 4.7uf 16v. Ensure you get the correct farad rating(uf rating) to replace the cap that you desolder from the power board, the voltage is not as critical aslong as the rating is equal to or above the rating of the original capacitor.

The capacitors will also be marked with a "-" running down one side of it this means that it is the negative leg, ensure you get the polarity correct check the board and the failed cap before you remove to ensure this , other wise the new cap you insert will blow as well.

Once done put the back cover back on ensure it is all cliped back into place correctly and then screw it up tight, plug the monitor back into the mains and turn on.

Just replaced the 2 470-25v Capacitors in my Sceptre Monitor have the same problem. Two Thumbs Up!

If the monitor dies completely , with no power at all, then you have a faulty power supply.
If instead the motor backlights shut off after a very short time, then the inverter is defective.

Sceptre monitors are built by Hitachi. Parts for this monitor are difficult to find because service manuals for re-tagged monitors are not available.
To find the part the technician can find the part number printed on the inverter board, or try calling a major retailer like ShopJimmy.
Hitachi won't deliver support for no brand monitors.
Check also if there is a phone support number listed on the user manual.

the major problem with this system is memory deletion.I mean the programmable rom ic bordering the ps.What you need to do is unplug the no. 5 pin and plug it back immediately after switching on i a sure you it will be working.

This sounds like a typical case of bad electrolytic capacitors. You will either have to get it repaired or replace the bad capacitors yourself to solve this. But first see if it is still under warranty.

This fault / alarm / warning is not listed anywhere and the company is no longer in business. Turn over the console and see if there is a door for a back up battery. It may be warning that it is running out. Do the same with the main control unit.
