Be sure to check all your menu settings for the remote control function. Shake the remote a little bit if you hear some rattling inside then its broken. It could bee the IR eye that's has developed a problem with-in the remote or the tv itself. Try a universal remote to see if its the tv or the remote that's not responding.

If the screen is black but still get sound, then the problem can be in the backlight inverter board or the power supply that power the inverter board.

Ur main video backlight board is dying or dead much be replaced.

Testing a fuse is pretty simple. Take fuse out. Put multimeter at Rx1 (impedance) and read Ohms. If it returns infinity (open circuit), then the fuse had blown. If impedance is low, then the fuse is OK.
If there is no power at all, and no sign of power (led on etc.) then it is a power problem.
The first part to test is power cord, reading high voltages on cord connectors to PSU board. High voltage in can also be tested reading a diagnostic +5V line on PSU. If there is no power in , then the power cord must be replaced.
If there is power getting to the PSU board, but the +5V line is off, then test resistors near to the power cord, reading Ohms. If resistors read infinite Ohms (no continuity), then they had blown.
The PSU capacitors are tested using a capacitance meter, this function usually is not available on common multimeter. The electrolytic capacitors on PSU can release dangerous discharge even when the TV is not connected to power.
A PSU can also not start because of a fault on digital control board.
If the PSU had been replaced, then your problem was not the PSU.
If the led is on or blinking , then the problem is not neccessarily power board. In that case I/O, connectors, commands, digital controller board, inverter must be tested along with PSU.
For safety reasons all the repairs must be done by a trained technician.

if you really intend to know what is the real trouble, you need someone to help you measure voltages to be sure.

if the stated voltages are not met, then and only you need to replace

the said inverter.

you also might need to check properly if that is really the board you are having.

I need to know what is your model number?. it will be on back of TV and is it DLP or LCD If it is DLP your Lamp is Bad you can call Mats 1-800-628-1118 for Lamp and other parts.

What is the make and model of your TV?

Do you have a blinking LED which shows and error code.

Unplug from power for about 20 min to reset and see if powers on then. If there is no blinking light or sign of power it is most likely a simple fuse, or a power board.

Thats the power supply again. I would have take it back and fix it properly this time.

contact the maker/customer service dept of the remote and ask them for codes that work for that TV. You may also find this info on the web- try googling it.

Thank you for asking your question on Fixya . This model TV is known for having problems with their power supplies failing. The red light only indicated that voltage is getting to the TV, not that the power supply is working. The TV is reset by unplugging the TV for an hour or more. If this power reset does not allow the TV to turn on component failure is indicated. These sets are assembled using the wave soldering process they are known for having cold solder connections. The safety circuitry shuts the TV set down or will keep it from turning on when it detects a problem. This model of TV has over 2,000 parts, which includes millions of transistors inside the integrated circuits. The capacitors will change value, leak and become defective. Capacitor failure is common and often the cause of the power supply failure. Resistors will change value and burn. Diodes and IC can go bad. This may have a domino effect and cause other parts to fail. Replacing one defective part may make the TV operate for a short time but the part will fail again if the parts that caused the failure to begin with are not replaced. The only way to know for sure which parts that are no longer within factory specs and for a proper repair all the electronics must be diagnosed by someone with the correct electronic test equipment specifically designed for TV service and the skills to use the test equipment. I wish I could tell you there was a quick fix or button to push that would fix the TV but that is not the case or the solution needed to get the TV operating correctly.

please check your power inverter this is common problem of all LCD type. change bad capacitors from secondary power supply near SMPS. hope this can help you.

Symptom shows LCD is broken where you see black mark along with some lines.
You need to replace LCD Panel (screen) in TV to get correct picture.
Call Shop Jimmy if they have required LCD Panel in stock.

From the sound of this, id say you have a cracked lcd screen. It can be replaced if it becomes to much of a problem, most tv's have a 1yr warranty with them. also the screen can be replaced but this often runs into more money then the tv is worth at the time. your tv uses about 125 watts so its not power issues but it dose sound like the liquid crystals are not allinging themselvs when the vollatge is applied to them from the hidden electric grid behind the lcd pannel. when the vollatge is applied the crystals align themselvs allowing light to pass threw. if they recive to mucth shock they will no longer move when voltage is applied. hope this helps you.

You could either have a defective LCD drive board or a defective main logic board. On occasions there have been LVDS cables bad, but that is on the inside, not cables your used to. Best to have a service company look at it to be on the safe side.
