I need a website to burn a recovery disk on because my dads computer will not allow him to do anything and he doesnt have the recovery disk.

You can try to run a recovery without a disc. Shut down the computer. hold the zero key and the power button at the same time on reboot. This should take you to the recovery screen. Good luck =]

Can't remember BIOS passoword on Toshiba Satellite L355D

You will have to contact Toshiba Support directly. The CMOS battery is soldered to the board, so you cannot remove it, and there are no jumpers to switch/short. Good luck.

Factory restore

On a laptop there is no factory setting reset option (unless you mean bios reset ). To get the laptop back to the initial 'as new' condition you need to re-install the system using the recovery disk on startup. Put recovery cd 1 inside laptop cd drive and restart the computer. Follow instructions for complete restore.
If you do complete restore you can lose all your data.

Restore to factory setting

If you want to completely reset it back to the original windows settings you must re-format your computer. This won't put the original programs back on it that you had before, but it will give your computer a COMPLETE reset. Meaning also that if you want to keep some data you must put it on some external drive because your hard drive will be completely overwritten.

If you want to get it back to just the factory settings, you could try to contact their customer services if they don't anything on their site to help you, although I would not recommend it. Factory settings aren't the best because they usually put stuff on your computer that you don't really want. Re-formatting is the best thing to do.

How do i reset to

Hi bigbro1610...

To set you computer back to factory fresh settings you will need to format the hard drive and reinstall the operatins system and the drivers.
You will need to have the CD's that either you made when you got your computer or if your lucky you got the CD's that the factory furnished with the computer at the time you bought it.
1.
Format the hard drive:
You do this by double left clicking on "My Computer",then double left click the main drive (normally C drive).
When the window pops open, you will choose "Format"
Keep in mind that once you format your hard drive you will loose all your files, programs, pictures, etc that you installed since the computer was new. So make your back up on a portable hard drive, thumb drive, etc.
2. Once the formatting of the hard drive is complete you will need to reinstall the operating system along with the drivers.
That will bring your computer back to factory new condition as far as operating is concerned.

I have a virus, i am trying to restore the system,

Your system restore is probably infected as well, if you have a second computer in the house with a thumb drive tis is what you should do.
1. disconnect the satellite from the internet and disable your wireless adapter. go to another computer that is not infected and down load malwarebytes to a thumb drive you can download it here
2. reboot your computer in safe mode with networking and enable your network adapter
3. Insert the thumb drive with malwarebytes installer on it and drag the installer to the deskt top an intall after it installe it will ask you to run and update check yes on both, malwarebytes will now download the latest updates after it finishes start a quick scan, let it run and remove all the little monsters it finds then reboot your system normally and start a full scan with malwaybyes and let it run .
