Yes and No. In order to accept Windows Vista you would have to make sure you have sufficient RAM memory. These older Win XP based laptops usually only have 256KB or maybe 512KB of RAM memory. Vista needs 512K minimum, but you should relay max out the Toshiba to 1MB of RAM for Vista to run smoothly. You would also have to try to find all the proper device drivers for Vista, and Toshiba has not provided them for this model laptop. You may find that some device drivers just are not available for Vista, I could not find a Vista video driver for it.This will impact performance. The bottom line, is that you can surely put Vista on this laptop but it will probably not run as efficiently and as fast as Win XP.

My soultion may be costly. The reason I say that is taking apart a lap top is no walk in the park. In many cases you will need special tools plus if you pull one part to far you might rip the delicate cable that sends the signal to your lcd screen. When it comes to lap tops and hardware problems its better to leave it to the manufacture to fix. I know this is not a solution but I just want to give you a heads up of what kind of problems you will run into if you try to fix it yourself. I would call manufacture see if there is a recall or somekind of tech service. Then you will be rest assured that it will be repaired properly and there will not be more problems that you caused when you opened it up.

Saying a computer is slow really is not giving out enough info. The A15's came with 256MB of memory, and runs XP Home - which was barely adequate. So that'd be the first area I'd address: most computers run slow 'cause they ain't got enough memory, and memory is cheap, so it's a crime not to give it an upgrade. If you indeed have 256MB of installed memory, then you should add a 512MB module (it uses laptop DDR PC2100 or PC2700 memory) and that ought to do it.

Hi, we have two ways to connect to broadband, via wired or wireless, at the device manager please do check if the LAN drivers are enabled, if enabled, via wired connection, simply put the RJ45 jack from LAN port of your router to LAN port of your notebook, if configuration is already set in your Router LAN, it will just automatically connect.
