its seems that DVD player can't read the DVD. Can be: 1. DVD Player eye is dirty 2. DVD format on unknown to DVD player There are kits that clean DVD player eye, I would try it first.

there are 2 reasons, your cd rom lens might be dirty and needs to be cleaned, you may use the lens cleaner cd. and your cd you are loading might not be supported by your cd rom, a different code could also one reason.

I had the same problem - unplug first- it is easy to undo all 6 small screws - open it up -plug in and then you can give it a little help to open it. It worked for me, BUT now it will open and close but not play the dvd.
