Reset password
What password are you referring to; Wireless Security or Web password to access the Router's interface?
If it's the 2nd; Open http://192.168.0.1 (default IP) on your web browser, type username: admin and Password: password. Click on Password then change the default password.
If it's the 1st; Open http://192.168.0.1 (default IP) on your web browser, type username: admin and Password: password (put you correct password if you change the default password).. Click Wireless on the left, Enable Encryption WEP or WPA; for WEP 64 bit you will have to use 10 HEX, meaning 0-9, A-F (e.g. common is phone number). If WPA; password can be set from 8-64 characters long.

The model number of the Product you are mentioning would be TEW-432BRP. The system light should be blinking all the time showing that the router is active. If the system light is Solid or off then there is some problem

How do i secure my router
Configure the Router
1. Step 1
Open your web browser, type " http://192.168.1.1/ " into the address bar and hit "Enter."
2. Step 2
Use "Admin" as the username in the pop-up box and leave the password blank.
3. Step 3
Connect to the Internet and click on "Internet Setup."
4. Step 4
Select your connection type from the drop-down menu. Choose "DHCP" for cable modems or "PPPoE" for most DSL modems. If you are unsure of these options, check with your ISP.
5. Step 5
Set a service set identifier (SSID) to identify the router and change the password.
6. Step 6
Encrypt your wireless connection using a Wireless Encryption Protocol (WEP) key. Under the "Wireless Security" option, enter a passphrase and click "Generate." This will generate a password which will need to be used by any client connecting to your router.

I did a firmware update and now i cant get a wifi
After the firmware upgrade, did you configure the wireless router settings again?
To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address.
3. Enter the router setup, login and password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA).
7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.
8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.
9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.
10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.

The internet gets hang
I can't say for sure without a better description of the problem, but from the little you say, it doesn't sound like a router problem. Look to your PC and to your browser. If you can get more information on what is going on, we may be able to isolate the problem.

Husband knocked out power plug. Trendnet will not
Yes it will
http://www.trendnet.com/downloads/list_subcategory.asp?SUBTYPE_ID=724
You will need to identify which exact model version it is then download the user manual which DOES have the reset instructions.
Most routers also have a small button or hole on the back for reset.
If its a hole the insert the end of a paperclip while powering up and hold for at least 10 seconds then release. You will of course then have to set up your network setting again.
If you saved the setting then its not a problem otherwise you may have to find that elusive bit of paper most people write this stuff down on and place in a "safe place"

Can't get connected to the internet
As usual technical dept in all ISP's are useless and unhelpfull especially if it's not a supplied modem.
(p.s. the ip address they are going on about is probably your routers address and not the ISP's address)
Anyway; you will have to get into your routers settings page, as you may have to set it up manually as I had to for a friend who is also with Tiscali as the router cannot obtain an ip address automatically from Tiscali.
Make sure you are connected to the router via the RJ45 network cable (Normally Supplied)and then Normally you type in something similair to 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1(check your manual for this), in your internet browser eg internet explorer.
Then go through the settings using the routers settings Wizard and manually input the following.
Virtual Circuit Identifier - VCI38
Virtual Path Finder- VPI0
Encapsulation Mode VCMux
Authentication Type CHAP
Protocol RFC 2364:PPP over ATM (PPPoA)
Modulation Type G.DMT or Auto
Primary DNS Server 212.74.112.66
Secondary DNS Server 212.74.112.67
Save settings.
Try accessing internet while you are still wired, if you can you know the ISP's settings are ok and you already know each PC can access the router, you should be away.
