Trendware TEW-452BRP Wireless Router (TEW452BRP) - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Download installation cd linksys wrt54gs
You could install the Linksys WRT54GS without any CD.
You could use the Linksys EasyLink Advisor to scan your network for the Linksys WRT54GS.
The Default IP-address is 192.168.1.1 so you should be able to connect to the Linksys with your Webbrowser when you do a factory reset of the Linksys.

Download installation cd
I don't believe there is an installation CD, read the manual and login to the router and run the wizard. Answer the questions the wizard presents and when you're done, maybe you'll have configured the router for your situation. If not, you can research the various settings changing them as needed until you are successful.

How do I set up a secure password
For trendnetYour Trendnet wireless router lets you broadcast your home network across your entire house, so you can access the Internet in any room. This signal may be powerful enough to extend into neighbors' houses, where they could easily jump on the network if it is unsecured. To protect your network, set up Wireless Encryption Protocol, or WEP, to encrypt data and prevent access unless the user enters the correct password. Type "http://192.168.0.1" in your Internet browser's address bar and press "Enter." Enter "admin" for the username and leave the password field blank. Click "Log In" to log into your Trendnet wireless router's administrative program. Click "Wireless" from the left pane of the "Basic" tab. Click "WEP" under the "Wireless Security Mode" section at the bottom of the screen. Enter your preferred password for the network. A strong password is made up of a random selection of numbers and letters. Click "Save Settings" at the top of the screen to save your WEP settings. trendnet wireless router users guide

I lost ma admin password and i wouldn't want reset
If you cannot log into your router:Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings.
or
if there is a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings
also if its linked directly to your internet contract you could ring your ISP internet service provider and get the password from them hope this helps

Trouble getting on the internet on my laptop
Assuming all the cables are connected the way it used to be befoe you went, I would suggest you to try and ping a global DNS address . ( Start - Run - cmd ) type ping 4.2.2.2 in the command prompt , and see if you can get four replies.
Else, I would suggest you try to power cycle teh the router once and if that doesnt work still, please reset it once.
hope this helps
Thanks

Computer not connecting to Router
Ok make sure your PC is connected to the router with a network cable for programming.
I noticed you said 192.168.1.1. I see an extra period just wanna make sure your typing it in correct
192.168.1.1
Ok so make sure the cable modem is plugged into the WAN on the router... Now connect another ethernet cable to the PC and the router. Reset the modem and router... wait a few mins and try to connect to the programming setup.

Slow outgoing internet
I would suggest checking in the router's admin panel. (Typical accessed by typing 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 into your address bar on your web browser. Type your password (if you do not know it check your owners manual for the default) and check to see if you have any firewall or port restrictions set.

Low outgoing internet
If you are experiencing slow speed while connected to a router, there are a number of things that can cause that problem.
If its the router causing the problem it could be a bad router, or a setting on the router.
1.) first thing i would do is a traceroute to google.com so from a command prompt type tracert google.com and see if your few hops are high. if they are when the router is connected but not high when the router is disconnected, then we know its something with the router.
log into the router's configuration.
2.) on some models you can change the MTU size.
3.) make sure your not filtering any ports that you need such as 110, 25
start with those 3 steps and let me know how that goes.

Opening routers config page.
Most router config pages can be opened at http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 . Better confirmation can be made if you provide the router model. You can also double check the address by going to start > run, typing cmd then hitting enter. In the command window that pops up, type ipconfig /all and press enter again. In the information it returns, you will see a Default Gateway address. That address should lead to your router if you put it in your browser.

Lost internet connection
Change the calbe from the router to the dsl modem. Make sure you check labels on the rear of these devices to make sure the connections go where indicated. Is there and ethernet light on your modem. If that is on then the connection is made. Also check if the DSL modem works directly connected to the pc.

Laptops do not recieve IP address from the router
Carlos
I think the problem lies within the dhcp of your router. Make sure dhcp is on and change the lease time to 1440 minutes or higher that way once you have the ip address it will stay with your laptop longer. alternatively allocate the ip address on your laptop manually.
good luck

Several Router problems
It sounds like an ADSL signal strength issue. Test that it is not a problem with the ADSL phone cable setup, using the shortest ADSL/Phone cable you can find (under 1Meter is best)unplug all other phone line using devices and filters from the wall jack points and test the routers connection again as the only device plugged in(this is Isolation testing) If the issue replicates itself under isolation testing conditions then ring your ISP providor and request that the "ADSL signal voltage" needs to be increased slightly as your router is not hearing the ADSL signal properly. If the issue doesn't replicate itself under isolation test conditions, you are either using an old or bad ADSL/Phone cable or your cable is too long (should not be longer than 5meters)or if you are using a wall socket/splitter for direct adsl access (without filters)then test the socket with a filter to verify the socket/splitter is not the cause of the problem, if you do use phone filters, during isolation testing, test each of the filters individualy with the router and see if the disconnection issue is replicated if so replace the bad filter the disconnection issue was being caused by phone signal interferance. Your third request requires you to setup the LAN info on the windows side of your connection not the wireless card, this can be verified by searching for websites via thier IP address which will work, when searching via their website name wont, DNS resolution issue, it is probably best practice to use MAC Addressing for your wireless setup though.
