Maytag oven beeping the message is F5 oven needs to be turned off

Hello, the oven can be turned off from the breaker panel, the Error message F5 refers to your electronic oven control is bad. You can try to reset it by turning the breaker off for 20 minutes and reseting the breaker..if this fails to work you will need to replace the EOC. Hope this helps, if you have any further questions please feel free to comment again..Good Luck!!!

Power outage last night. Was going to reset the clock. Pushed clock, and now it says SA6 and is frozen.

Switch off at the wall switch then on again , this should reset the controls.

Oven won't heat up, but no error codes

I called the repairman for help. Turns out that one of the suggestions would have worked if I could go to basement turn off breaker then run up and carry out the suggestion and run to the basement again and turn back on breaker, then up again faster. The repairman was able to fix problem by using me as the go between the breaker and the oven. He stayed up and I stayed down thereby eliminating the problem of not being able to run up and down fast enough myself. The two of us were able to make things happen in the time limit. I think I should have gotten a break on the bill since I played helper!! If anyone else has this problem and has closer access to the breakers than I, they would be able to cut the repairman out of the picture and save the service fee. Maybe I should run up and down from oven to breakers for a set amount of time for exercise in preparation for the next oven problem. May be easier to get a new oven without a computer in it if such a thing exist anymore because at 77+ I don't think I am going to get much faster even with exercise.

Maytag electric oven model cwe5800acb.

Yes, replace the lower element by first turning off the circuit breaker to the oven (110V is still to half of the 220V element circuit even though the oven setting is turned off), then unscrew the two screws holding the element to the back wall of the oven, then pull the element out (may have to tug it a bit to get the connectors through the insulation), and pull the wire connector clips off the element.

I have just installed a Maytag built-in double

How many active terminals are there at the main terminal block in the new oven. Is this a single or 2 phase supply. Have you connected the active supply to all active terminals. If only half of the oven is working it sounds like it could be a problem at the terminal block. If so, you need to put a loop or bridge wire to the 2nd active terminal.
If all this was done correctly when connected the only other thing it could be is the electronic clock needs to be set to manual mode for the oven to work correctly.

There ae 9 manuals for this unit... the alpha letters after 5800 of your model number are what will determine which manual you down load.

The first manual for model CWE5800ACB is here:

After implementing the self cleaning

Hi - Welcome to FixYa.

Many ovens, including Maytag, have a built in safety feature which prevents opening of the oven door for about 1 hour after the self-cleaning cycle has finished. The self-clean feature works at a much higher temperature than the maximum cooking temperatures so it's designed to prevent access until the oven is fully cooled.

If you have already waited an hour and still can't open it, try leaving it a little longer. If it still doesn't open or you've already been waiting at least an hour, please post back for further assistance.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
BElectric

When you use self clean the 900 degree temperature damages the electronics. I do not advise using that feature. Get some oven cleaner and do it the old fashioned way. My opinion. If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/dan_73bbd84fe1d95b61
