Usually one goes to the manufacturers web site and downloads them... then connect the GPS to PC and update, sometime you can connect the GPS first & then update straight to the GPS when connected.

I am guessing you did not back them up on your computer.
You need to install the software that came with it on your PC,
assuming you have on, and connect the GPS. Follow the on screen instructions. You may have to purchace new maps.
Tip Backup to your pc this time :)

Unit will not power up

It is working now and I really don't know what happend. I had left the battery out for a while, then put it back in and it worked.

They FINALLY released the new map database April 08. Also now has a true 3d map and other performance improvments
