VCR has sound but no picture
Your video head are dirty
Needs cleaning
> use denatured alcohol and shamos sticks
> clean tape guides also / they will have residue that will transfer to the video heads.
> be careful not to snag the heads.<<< very delicate
> professional should do the cleaning
hope this helps.

Lost instructions, cannot create DVD from cam-corder recording
Thanks, I already solved the problem. There was no "Setup" button (on the remote, anyway) to follow the instructions given -- in the manual, which I downloaded!.
Instead, I remembered that "Input" often allows you to select a source for something, so when I chose THAT button, I was able to choose the port that had my cam-corder.
Then I simply pressed record on the DVD player while Play on the C-C.

Want to transfer vhs tape to dvd
not sure why you would need an rca to s-video adapter, almost every dvd recorder and vhs has rca input and ouput.
anyway here is the basics to record from vhs to dvd you would connect the OUTPUT video (yellow) and right and left audio OUTPUT (red and white) to the dvd recorders INPUTS.

Cannot finalize a dvd.
being that it is a display model , there are acouple of things it could be
first try cleaning the laser lens with a disk that goes in there , if that don't let it finalize then the laser lens should be cleaned manually, and if that don't do it then there is an internal problem ,which then it would need repair

Dvd and vcr recorder
Well LG makes this unless you can find a firmware up then you must order some DvD-RW with CPRM this allows you to copy your shows once then recording over them.I got this from LG.It's a common firmware problem that started when digital signals got sent with copy right protections.
