At the least it will be a new power supply. Does it have an external PSU or is it internal? It depends on the quality of the power suply wether any further damage was done.
Either way if you need the data you could open the drive case up and remove the drive from it, you could then fit it as an internal disk on a desktop PC to get the data back. Opening the case won't matter as you have voided any possible warranty by changing the supply voltage.

Sometimes the disk stops when ejecting, and remains in a slightly lifted position, making it impossible to eject it no matter what. It has to come back to it's resting place inside the drive and then you can try ejecting it again.
Try to push it back in with something that will not destroy the disk and the drive, like a piece of cardboard, or your finger, if you can reach inside.When it clicks back into place, try ejecting it again. Repeat a couple of times if necessary, it should unlatch eventually.

Please make sure that your drive is not infected by viruses.

1. Make sure PIN 1 is properly connected on all IDE interface connections. The stripe on the interface cable should align with PIN 1 on each connection. If the cable does not have a keyed connector, make sure the connector has not shifted a pair of pins.
   
2. Make sure the slave drive is correctly jumpered as a slave. Refer to the documentation that accompanied the slave drive for configuration information (often this information is on the disk case). If you cannot locate the documentation, contact the manufacturer of the drive.
   
3. Some IDE hard drives do not work properly unless they are in a certain position on the IDE cable. You may need to reverse the position of the slave drive and the ATAPI (master) drive on the cable for the slave drive to work properly.

5. The Zip drive is set as the factory default to the "Slave" configuration. Make sure that your drive matches this configuration. (When installed on a Macintosh, the Zip drive should only be installed in a slave configuration.)

6. Your Zip drive comes mounted on a drive sled. To install your Zip drive in a G4 or Blue and White G3 computer, remove the mounting screws and slide the drive out of the sled. Save the screws for use in a later step.
7. Shut down your computer and disconnect the power cord.
   
8. Open the side of your Macintosh. Refer to your computer's owner's manual if you are unsure how to do this.

9. Remove the drive bezel by pushing the two bezel tabs towards the CD/DVD-ROM drive and toward the front of the computer.

10. Remove the screws that attach the drive carrier to the computer's chassis. These screws are located on the front of your computer directly below the CD/DVD-ROM drive (shown on the illustration above). Keep these screws separate from the screws removed in step 2. Push the drive carrier forward about one inch.

11. Unplug the three cables attached to the back of the CD/DVD-ROM drive. These are the CD audio cable, IDE cable, and power connector.

12. Slide the drive carrier out of the computer. NOTE: You may feel some resistance as you push on the drive carrier.

13. If the drive carrier has a small metal piece inserted in the empty drive bay below the CD/DVD-ROM drive, remove the metal insert.
    
14. Slide the Zip drive into the drive carrier until the mounting screw holes on the Zip drive can be seen through the mounting holes in the drive carrier. Use the screws that you removed from the drive sled in step 2 to attach the Zip drive to the drive carrier.

    CAUTION! Mounting screws must not extend into the Zip drive farther than 4.0 mm (about 0.16 inch). Mounting screws that are too long could damage the drive.
    
15. Slide the drive carrier partially into the computer, leaving enough room to plug in the cables.

16. Connect a power cable and data connector to the Zip drive.

17. Connect the audio, power, and data connectors to the CD/DVD-ROM drive.

    CAUTION! Make sure all of your connections are tight. Your computer may not start up properly if these cables are not properly connected.
    
18. Slide the drive carrier until it locks into place. (The carrier tab will slide into the hole on the drive shelf.)

20. Replace the front bezel by aligning the bezel tabs on the left side of chassis and pushing the right side gently toward the computer until the right bezel tabs click into place. Some G4 or Blue and White G3 systems shipped with a Zip® bezel included. Today I try to use my Iomega 750 USB drive and found it has died. There is no light on the drive and I cannot extract the disc out which is within it. How do I get the disc out and is it worth attempting a Fix. Deperately need some help.

i had to install microsoft backup on my xp system and was able to restore using that software.

I have the imoga 100 external zip drive and there's a pin hole on the front panel. that if you straighten a paper clip and stick in the whole, it should manually eject the disk.

I had the same problem when using OS10. Zips only open on my Mac G4 which also has the Classic 9 operating system and zip files open on my older computer with operating systems.

I'm thinking the usb port being used on the home pc may be bad. Do you have any others available to use?

control+A to highlight all the files you want to move then control+X to cut or control+C to copy then go to the destination drive to which you want to paste the files.

I'm trying to re-install iomegaware zip 100 & it tells me it does not support windows 2000 so I need to update drivers. Can you please help me figure this out as I rely on my zip for backups. I have version 21.1.

sometimes you get this problem if you have changed software version what software was you using before and are these zip disks off your comp originally or from another sourse you could try reinstalling the software that came with it or if dont have software you should be able to get it off the net hope this is some help ...............................................
