To enable a live feed from your camera to a separate TV/Monitor, you will require either the special AV cable (3.5 Video/audio plug to 3 RCA), or an S-Video cable (as per diagram below):

The built in microphone is really only good for distances of less than 1 maybe two metres. If your camera has a microphone input then you can add an external microphone more suitable. eg. shotgun mic.

Have you plugged the camera into the computer VIA USB and turn it on? It should recognize the camera and a window pop up. From there you can manually transfer the files. After that you would need a video editing software to edit the movie files themselves.

To adjust the speaker volume during playback, slide the speaker volume control towards + (plus - right) to turn up the volume, or towards - (minus - left) to turn the volume down.
The speaker volume control is the same as the ZOOM lever on the top of the camera.
