A lot of times it's easier to set the microwave on its left side, then open the door and work on it.
That way, gravity will help you keep things in place.
On this over the range model, you'd have to pull the oven from the wall. Refer to your installation instruction booklet for details.
If for some reason you don't still have yours, you can order it as part number 3828W5U0492 from the Pros here. They are a good source for LG parts.
You can download the owner's manual here.
You can download the service manual by clicking the text link below the document preview on this page.
Be careful where you click on that page (which is not mine). Please follow the download instruction above.

Just opened mines today .... guide below is almost correct ....when you lift the cover off the bulb is shielded behind a metal box.... theres one screw that connects it to the magnotron .... take off that screw and pull out the plug with the brown and white cables that is connected to the bulb... the bulb is a T170 KEI 240v 25W on mines at least which no one around stocks so will just try and claim under warranty as 2 years labour 6 years parts... bulb has never worked just never got to opening it up ...bulb looked trashed when i took it off... element was all black and in bits rattling inside the microwave ... only use the thing for warming kids milk and sterilising bottles...
you may have blown a fuse if there is no power display...the fuse unfortunately is located in control panel... it usually is either a 15 amp or 20 amp fuse... do not put a larger one in or a smaller. to test the fuse if you cant visible see it is bad you will need to ohm out and should get continuity ...if the fuse is good and you have no display most likely the pcb or board is bad....
good luck
Our LG did the same thing - called customer service and they told us the open and slam the door 10 times. It actually worked! It reset the switches somehow.
Sounds like the magnetron has failed. This is the component that
produces the microwave that heats the food. The cost of the magnetron
is about 95% of the cost of a microwave .
Most people don't, for this reason, replace the magnetron, they replace
the whole oven which is probably what you will end up doing. There is a
possibility that the circuit that provides power to the magnetron is
faulty and you need to take it apart, find the proper electrical leads
and test them with a volt meter. To do this you have to remove it from
its mounting and take it apart. It is a fairly lengthy process however.
yep you got it in one, I must have advised about 10 people today about this. when the door is slammed the door protection circuit does not operate correctly and then takes out the mains fuse inside the unit. renove the case and locate the fuse, normally where the cable enters the unit. as long as the fuse is the correct amperage, lenght and diameter you have no problems. do not test the unit with the cover off and be careful as the capacitors can hold a lethal charge
It sounds as if an internal fuse has failed. You will need a qualified repairman for this, as ther are no user serviceable parts inside, but there are INSTANTLY LETHAL voltages present, even when the unit is off & unplugged.
That's common - it's a problem on your control panel.
We regularly repair these control panels for only $32.50 nationwide.
