it sounds like the main control pcb is bad. it is not letting the defrost cycle work correctly and now the damper in the refridgerator side is stuck
LG SXS Refrigerator LSC26905 ice maker
I was able to order the ice tray myself and install it in the fridge - it's not hard. I ordered from one of the parts sellers linked to at the LG website, not those listed in other posts here.
Here's how to replace the tray:
You need to remove the tray dumping mechanism to do this.
- Remove the ice bin, set it aside (don't forget to deal with the ice melt).
- Turn the ice maker off (LG says to unplug the fridge, I didn't).
- On the left hand side of the ice tray dumping mechanism there is a screw helping to keep the entire thing suspended from the ceiling of the freezer. Remove that screw- don't worry, the mechanism will stay put for now.
- The dumping mechanism can now slide forward- note that you can't completely remove it from the freezer yet, but slide it forward and it will no longer be suspended from the ceiling. Don't let it drop or hang.
- You need to disconnect its power supply now. On the left hand side you should see a small bundle of wires coming from the back of the freezer to the dumping mechanism. It connects to the dumping mechanism's set of wires with a pair of white plugs. Pull these plugs apart. You may need to pry the catch on these plugs apart while you pull.
- Now you can take the dumping mechanism out of the freezer (and close your freezer).
- To remove the ice tray you need to slide the housing that contains the rotating motor out of the housing. This is on the right side of the mechanism. If you have trouble identifying it look at the underside of the entire thing and you'll see a small "test" button. That button is on the motor.
- To remove the motor you'll see two catches on the right side- you'll need to pull these catches out without breaking anything. You'll be able to slide the motor down and out when you get it right.
- Sliding the motor out lets you get the old ice tray out now. There is probably a set of white wires routed through a little catch on the old ice tray that you'll need to free.
- Put the new ice tray back on the motor. You'll need to get the left side secured at the same time you get the motor housing in its catches of the dumping mechanism.
- Reroute those white wires back on the new ice tray.
- Reconnect the electric wires to the housing.
- Slide the entire dumping housing back onto the ceiling of the freezer and screw in on the left side.
That's it. You can press that test button on the underside of the motor. This will dump the tray and immediately refill it with water so you can observe if everything is working.

Insulation does not melt - gaskets may be affected by hot temps.
Your condenser coils may be located on sides of fridge. If so the unit will be warm to the touch on the outside.
What does CF E mean on my LG refrigerator?
With LG 'smart' refrigerators, the error code CF means that the refrig control board 'thinks' the condenser fan down by the condenser coil is not working. I don't know ow the board senses that, unless it's a temperature sensor on the condenser coil signaling the coil is running too hot. It could be dust blocking the coil air flow, a bad fan (locked up or running slow), a bad sensor, a bad control board, you name it!
On LG lrsc26944tt ice water dispenser not working
check water line for obstructions. check water solenoid valve if working right. with these two working good , check the switch for the water solenoid valve. with the switch working fine but not dispensing water , call your nearest trusted knowledgeable fridge technician . thanks .
Is there a simple fix in the mother broad like a capacitors. or do i have to replace mother broad
In the old days, (10 yrs and more ago) you could, but its not worth it. Most boards come with solid circuits and a pain to diagnose anyway. If you are smart enough to ask this question Im assuming you are smart enough to diagnose your problem. If you are haveing problems, start up the unit normally with the computer open, listen for the tones and look for LED flashes compare them with the error codes of the mothgerboard you arwe using, so that means the first thing you do is find the error codes for your motherboard.
Why won't ice tray filling stop?
Michael, I suspect that the water solenoid valve needs replacement--that symptom usually causes either a slow leak and an overflowing ice cube tray or no water flow at all. To test the solenoid valve, slide your refrigerator out and view the back cover. There should be a double solenoid valve down near the bottom back of your refrigerator, one solenoid valve for the water serve spout on the front of the freezer door, and the other solenoid valve for the ice maker. I'd swap the clear plastic lines (to the door water spicket and the icemaker, put a plastic cup under the door water spicket and check in a few minutes for water leaking into your cup--if it does leak into the cup, you've found the problem! There are seval excellent videos on the web covering how to replace the valve, see: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/lg-water-inlet-valve-5221ja2006d-ap4445614.html That solenoid is controlled by a cam driven switch built into the ice maker motor assembly which can occasionally go bad and need replacement or adjustment, but my experience points to a leaking dirt plugged-open water solenoid valve. Replacment solenoid valves are easy to replace at a cost ranging from $20 to $78 with free shipping to your doorstep--check ebay!
How do I replace ice cube tray?
If you're referring to the tray for the ice maker, you can order it from your local LG retailer.
If you just need an ice cube tray, go to ANY DEPARTMENT STORE, kitchen section.
Temperature settings 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 means
refrigerator dial settings work from hot + 5 degrees (5) to real cold (1) 0 degrees and in the freezer section they work in the opposite direction (1) is cool - is minus 5 degrees and ( 5) is minus 25 degrees
those figures are example figures to show how the temperature in the units will be in relation to the dial numbers
