Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z6 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
I need a usb cable for my camera
A camera store or electronics store will likely have the correct cable. It's most likely a "mini usb" connector. If there's a Best Buy near you, they should have it.
Buy a new usb cord
The manual calls it the USB Cable USB-3. DONT MIX THIS UP WITH USB3 cable. I Think, but I'm not 100% sure they mean a normal USB cable with a mini connector. To be 100% sure check the wiki page and look if it is the second from the left. It is a normal USB2 mini connector, you can buy in almost every electronics shop. Some manufacturers did use other cables, but this looks just a normal mini connector.
How do I fix
Either the card is bad, or it is to big for the camera. If other devices can read it, it might not be compatable with your camera

HOW TO RECORD VIDEO
just put in a memory card or possible a tape put it in record mode and hit the record button.
The Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z6 will not read the 8
The Z6 uses MMC and SD cards. If you look carefully at your 8GB card, you'll see that it's an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. The Z6 is limited to cards 2GB and smaller.
Tele wide switch doesn't work
You most likely need a new switch but it's no longer available. Even if you can find one, then it costs more than if you just buy another used but fully functional z1 or even a later and better specified model.
Your camera was never designed with repairs in mind, but was designed for a minimum 5 year lifespan which it's now comfortably exceeded. Even if you do buy another z1 then it will also be just waiting for it's first major failure, so you may wish to look at buying something like a new Fuji Finepix s1600. It does everything and more that your z1 does to a far better standard, and as the model has just been discontinued you can buy them brand new with a full warranty for less than £70 in the UK and probably rather less if you live in North America.
8 Gb SD card not recognized by Minolta DiMage Z6
The Z6 works with MMC and SD cards. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into SD slots, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use MMC or SD cards, 2GB and smaller.
I have the timer set
Once you have the self-timer set, start it by pressing the shutter release button as usual. The camera will focus, meter the exposure, then delay for ten seconds before firing the shutter.
Konica minolta dimage z6 card locked. how do i
Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
If that doesn't work, try another card.
It says "unable to use card" I tried a 16 mb up
Hi,
Check that there is no dust or dirt on the contacts where the card goes in... very hard to see and even harder to get too to clean out/off if there is something....a toothpick with a cloth on the end... but be careful that it does not just poke right through... no q-tip or anything like that... it will just leave more fuzzies in there...sometimes just a plain toothpick will do....be careful also not to bend the contacts...they all need to contact the brass colored contacts on the card...about eight in all...any of them bent or dirty and the no card will work...
The only other alternative is a repair shop...

When I try to delete
Make sure the card / individual pictures aren't locked. It is probably also worth testing to see if you get the same issue with another memory card. You could also try formatting the card if you don't mind erasing the entire card its good to do occasionally anyway for the life of the memory card.
If none of these works, its most likely an issue with the firmware on the camera. Also its not a great solution, but you can always delete the pictures on a computer if you have the appropriate card reader or USB connector.
My 2gb san disk gets 'system error' after just two
Download any pictures you have on the "new" memory card to the computer. I'm sure the card memory lock us in the unlock position or you wouldn't have got this far.
Anyway once the pictures have been downloaded to the computer hard drive do a proper disconnect or eject, safely remove device (different computers use different language for the same darn thing) in short shut off the link before disconnecting the memory card from the computer. Once this has been done and the memory card is back into the camera format the card. Formatting is necessary for any new card to program it to the camera it is going to be used in. Also after each download of pictures from a memory card to the computer eject (properly shut it off) and then format the card again. This give the camera a clean medium to perform at it's optimum and place clean new pictures on the memory card. Okay for the larger cards I ran into this with my pro camera and needed to connect to the manufactures web site and download updated firmware once that was done I was able to feed 8gig card into my camera. I full suspect that if you go to Konica/Minolta web site that you will be able to download camera firmware updates. It's just amazing what this will do for the performance of the camera pro or consumer type. Have fun hope this was a help
I bought a sd card and sending me error saying i
well here are few possibilities:
- is any other card runnig in the camera?
-maybe the the card u purchased exceeds the max limit of the camera
-maybe the file system on the card is not suitable to use in the camera
-maybe the card is fried.
-maybe the card slot of ur camera is fried.
try a combination of all these diagnostics.
