My Minolta Z6 used to take clear pictures.

I think you may be doing what I have ben doing. The auto focus beam I think emits from the small sender between the hand grip and the lense portion of the camera, ( Bad Design) When gripping the camera my fingers sometimes block the sender and causes it to be blurry as in not focused. .Try to keep your fingers from going in between the grip and lens and I think it will work for you.Let me know if this helps. I am so glad I found this out because this camera takes nice pictures.

Diappearing Pictures

If the photos were transferred from the internal memory of your camera to your card, you may be able to retrieve them with special software (even after the card is formatted).

I've had corrupted memory cards in the past and had some success with software like CardRecovery. This one has a free trial:

Memory card

Make sure your Daughters Camera is turned off....Open Memory Card door press in on card to release and remove it from the camera.....On the side of the card you will see a little tab that is knurled and slides up & down.....Simply slide this tab to the opposite position it is in now and reinsert into your camera , power up and you should now have an unlocked card.....This function is used if you fill up a card with photos and don't want to accidentally erase any of your pictures before you store on your PC or burn to a cd or dvd so that you don't lose your pictures.....

Unable to use card

What size card is it? You should go to Konica Minolta USA Web-Site and look up your camera under discontinued products to see what the largest card your camera can handle as you may have a card that is to large for your camera format ....

Picture problem!!!

If you haven't formatted the card, the images can be retrieved using some software available on net. But these are not free software. The trial versions allow you to view the files, but you can't save them. Sandisk Rescue Pro is one such software. It usually comes free with Sandisk memory cards.

Konica Minolta Dimage Damage

I had the same problem with mine, a minor fall cracked this, I disassembled the unit and one of the springs that hold the main sensor was broken, thus the sensor vibrates instead of "floating" when the camera is turned on. There are two possible solutions: The first is to get a faulty Z6 from eBay and get the parts (the main sensor assembly) and have it replaced. (If you are not comfortable working with 1mm screws, you'd better go with the parts to a camera repair shop and explain them the problem. The second solution is un-elegant but useful: If you disconnect the anti-shake circuit from the main board you won't have the annoying vibration at start, and the focus will work properly. I've done this and I am happy with the result (I rarely used the anti-shake feature, so I don't miss it). For reference, the anti-shake circuit ribbon is the one entering the mainboard just under the left side of the screen.

Ejoy.....
PS. if you have dark spots, chech that the sensor assembly is not too out of place or that a piece of the broken assembly is on the way. Realign it in place (and please don't touch it). and asseble tha camera back

There's a good possibilty that your mode switch is broken. Same thing happened to my Z6. I was able to source replacement switches, and can replace them.
