I bought my digital camera (Nikon Coolpix 3) about a year ago. On Friday, May 18, I hosted a party which I planned to photo-document. I had taken about three pictures when the camera gave me the "Warning: Battery Exhausted" message. I thought, "no big deal, get new batteries." I replaced the batteries with brand new ones and immediately received the "Warning: Battery Exhausted" message upon turning it on. I have tried at least 5 more pair of batteries from different manufacturers and continually turn on the camera only to receive the "Warning: Battery Exhausted" message. Please help.
You MUST use rechargeable batteries , like NiMh , with charger for that kind of battery , and your problem will go ...

The lens is out to where it would take a picture but it is stuck & I tryed to shove it back in but it just got more messed up.How can I fix it myself?
It worked. I just gently nudgged the extended(stuck) lens to one side by hand. (the side which had the gap.) There was a click sound and the lense housing fell back in place. Sweitched off and switched on again and the lense started working fine. thanks.

The LCD is basically a white screen with a little bit of black horizontal line. Can't pull up menu or change screen can't view anything except the white screen. I was able to transfer the photos I took though just unable to see through the lcd screen to take future shots as just a white blank screen and no menu
This sounds like a broken or cracked LCD screen. The backlite is working, thus you will get the white screen. The LCD could also be disconnected internally, or has other problems. But this is a direct problem with the LCD.
A camera like this can usually take pictures, and you may be able to use it to set the menus by using the video cable to the TV or computer screen (some flat screens have video inputs).

This has happened to me before but it hasn't been this severe. I don't know where else to turn. I'm 13 years old and my friend over uses it when he comes over. I also noticed that the lens INSIDE the chrome circular thingy is a bit pushed in on the left side.

s220 connected to pc via usb cable. Nikon transfer software
will now not work (worked earlier). Downloaded current software
but no luck. Win XP recognizes camera (generic driver), but
cannot get pics on SD card with Nikon sw or XP's built in pic viewer.
SD card is fine as I can get all pics using an SD card reader.
Have tried disabling recently-installed programs due to possible conflicts but still
cannot get pics using USB cable. Help, please? Thanks.
If you can get the pics using a card reader, why are you insisting on using the camera and USB cord? Pros always use a card reader.

nikon coolpix s70 lens error, need help.
Hello :
It is a pretty major problem for the Coolpix it seems. The internal coupling of the zoom lens is somewhat fragile, and a slight tap at the wrong time can mess up the system. It could have been something as small as a bump while it was being carried in your pocket. The problem is that you'll have to pay for repairs on it since technically it's not a camera error but something that Nikon says happened during usage.
Some owners seem to have been able to solve the problem with a gentle bump to the side of the camera, or some gentle twisting on the lens itself. I don't necessarily recommend that- or, at least I would call Nikon first and see what they have to say about cost of repairs. Other people say that once you do get it fixed, put the camera in Playback mode before you switch it off so that the problem doesn't happen again.
I hope this will help .
