How to unlock card in pentax optio Says Card

Hello

OK, if the memory card itself is locked, you might sometimes get this error code. All you need to do is to take out the memory card and switch the lever on the left side to the unlock.

6c99e31.jpg

If the error is still displayed after you did the above, you might want to try the card in another camera.

If the card works in another camera . the problem is with your card reader in your camera.

If you open you sd slot and look inside with a sharp light , you should be able to see on the left side of the slot there is a little copper or spring steel lever switch. This switch work as follows:

1. When no card is inserted / no write protection , the switch is open and thus the protection is off.
2. When locked card is inserted , the tab is depressed and tells the camera that the card is lock.

Contrary to popular belief ,the little tab on the sd card is not an electronic switch and does not physically influence the card operation itself. If you put a locked card into a camera without a sd lock switch , you would still be able to use the card normally.

It is incredible difficult to fix this switch because of space limitations in the sd card. Look into the sd slot and if you can see the switch , use a needle to pull the little tab down toward the base of the camera by about 2mm or until it works being careful not to bend it.

If this does not resolve your problem , there might be a short in the switch circuit and the camera will need to be disassembled to resolve this error. This should cost no more than $50.

Please feel free to contact me if you need further information

Kind regards
Andrea

Shutter button not working

SD card is only a storage device for data. It has no direct function other than storing pictures. Check your power supply, usually the batteries to see if you have full power. Make certain the batteries are in properly, aligned + to the + post etc. Check to see if the settings are correct. If all of the above are in order, then the shutter control unit may have malfunctioned and thus Good Bye camera. Not worth the cost of repair. Lastly, contact the manufacture and ask support for their opinion.

Is there a way to change the settins to Time Stamp the photos on the Pentax W10?

The camera will not deface your photos by scrawling a string of numbers across them. However the date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

I cannot install the software for the camera to my pc.

You don't need to install anything. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as ACDSee.

Card Locked HP M425

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

After taking some pictures underwater, my camera is not functioning well. it made some weird noise and it spark. How can i fix this?

It is possible that there was a leak within and a possible case of salt water that has gone into the camera. You need to remove to confirm and if so this must be referred with the battery removed immediately and the unit left to dry.

My Pentax Optio W10 camera takes some out of focus

Your camera has the option for manual focus. This option allows you to focus the camera to capture what you want, rather than the auto-focus feature.

This will be indicated by a MF in the top center of your camera screen. You should be able to change this by finding record mode and changing your AF settings. Change your MF to the [ ] option and you should be on auto-focus settings.

Hope this helps.

In certain lighting situations there are spots on

No not dirt, what it's called is lens flare. Lens flare is where a sharp/bright point of light enters the lens on an angle and causes the light to refract through the lens elements. This is hard to see happening on a pocket point and shooter and equally hard to prevent. What can be done is you hold your hand above or to the side of the camera out of it's field of view to cast a shadow on the lens and the flare won't happen. However sometimes you get your hand in the pictures. Even on my pro cameras and lens combination this happens even with the use of a lens hood. The good part of this is I can see it happening through the viewfinder. The only other thing I can suggest is to change either the angle of the camera or recompose the scene or subject to the point of light is not causing this flare.
