Zoom lens stuck out when turn on it says zoom defect

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them:

I have a SP

If the lcd you put in is the exact same model ..and it is new..the only issue is from the ribbon ..and I dont think it is a defect ...I think it is just a issue with the plug not being proper inserted or so ...If you can open it ...and same time when it is open ...power it up ..with the ac at least ...( I assume the batteries will not stay in place when the cover is off) and try to see whats wrong with the ribbon plug ..Jiggle a little ...and press it in more ...Until the double image is not there ...take it out again ..blow the dust and so ..and put it back ..but ..find a way to power it up ..and have some kinda image for to have control ..and not be forced to put it back and open it several times...

I want to transfer photos from my camera to a disk

Use the "Backup" option in the card menu. Full instructions are in the "Copying pictures in the internal memory to the card (BACKUP)" section in the advanced manual (page 101 in my copy). If you've misplaced the manual, you can download one from

A new set of batteries after 3-5 snaps saying Low

  • Hi, this can happen due to failure in detecting battery level, (sensor problems) if this case you can use the camera eve though it says low battery,
  • in the other case the battery might be low power model, for this you have to check the battery label ( ex:- 2000mAh). see wheather it matches with the original batteries.
  • also can happen due to camera malfunction, for example the software or display may be running even when it is turned off.

Camera works for a very while, but quickly senses

Something, it sounds like, is draining the batteries. Rechargeables are a lower voltage, and don't last as long as alkalines, but the alkalines should give you at least a couple hundred pics (depending on how much the flash and zoom is used, camera turning on and off, etc.). A camera tech might know the likely cause, but get an estimate before getting it repaired. The cost of service is often more than the replacement cost of a new camera, as they are getting cheaper by the day, almost! Good luck, sorry I can't help any more than that.

Zoom error appears on screen and camera turns off

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea

When I turn on the

Base from the description of your problem the lens no longer extended or retract that;s why you're receiving this zoom error and this is a issue with the lens mechanism of the camera.

We can try this turned on the camera while holding in the lens, gears ground a bit and then check if the error will be gone now and if still there this camera lens needs to be service to avoid further damage.

Battery charger

The SP-320 uses standard AA batteries, disposable or rechargeable. If you want to use rechargeables, you should be able to find chargers at any department, electronics, or office-supply store. You can't use the camera itself as a charger, however.

LCD panel cracked

The price to have the LCD replaced would probably cost 75% of a new one. If you can do without the LCD and it downloads the pictures to your PC, at least you've got something.
That camera has a viewfinder, so you can still take pictures, right.
Sorry about the bad news.

I believe that camera takes a xd card.
Are you using a sd card?
Before inserting or removing a card, make sure the camera is OFF or the data may get corrupted.
After inserting, go to the settings in the camera and format the card. Then select the card as the memory rather than the internal memory.
