I interupted the hard disk erase program (my new hard disk)and now I don't see it anymore in the explorer. how can I solve this problem. kind regards

It could be the partition is gone. Right click on computer and pick manage. Then under storage there will be disk management. If you can see the drive there you will have the option to Partition, format and so on. If not you might want to try gparted. You can down load the ISO and make a boot cd or memory stick . In both cases you can easily wipe out you main drive. Be careful and sure which drive you are working on. If you go the gparted route you may want to unplug your main drive so you are sure. I hope this is helpful http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php

The usb drive doesnot open windows need to format

We need a bit more information here. Was this a new usb ? If so you may simply need to format it in windows (a quick format would do using FAT32). If this is an usb with data on it was it used by a windows or linux os ? If windows was it NTFS?

Error 1407 external drive

That's a Mac error stating that the file you are trying to delete is currently being accessed. First, close all open programs and try to delete the file. If that doesn't work, eject the drive by clicking the eject button in a Finder window. Disconnect the drive. Reboot. Then reattach the drive and immediately delete the file.

My computer tells me I need to install the driver software for the Verbatim 8 GB jump drive.

Elaina,That is unusual that Vista would not already have the driver for that device. What you might be able to do is have device manager search the web for the driver automatically. This video may help (it's for windows 7 but the instructions are virutally thes same): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbXatmo4QBUIf it says it can't find a driver, then I believe there is an option to have it search the web for the driver. (Does the flash drive have a model number on it by chance?)

I get the following error

Connect your Store-N-Go to the computer you are using now, then go to Device Manager and look for the Device-N-Go (should be one of Universal Serial Bus) right on it then choose to uninstall it. Remove the Store-N-Go then restart your computer. After restarting, reconnect it again and see if that fixed the problem. You should also do a full virus scan on your computer.

My verbatim usb will not

You will have to be the computer administrator to change any values on any hard drive

click start control panel user accounts you should see a box with the administrator and the guest account if you have made one click on the administrator this may vary depending on which operating system you have

click start click to open on my computer you should see your hard drive usually C: right click select properties there will be an array of options select the security tab option then advanced make sure you have full control in windows 7

click start control panel user accounts click on the administrators account if you have made one or you will have to create one in windows XP

USB drives can be write-protected by modifying the StoreageDevicePolicies Registry key and WriteProtect Registry value. click Start>run>regedit to open Registry Editor. and press control+F to open the find dialogue box and type "usb device" or "driverdesc" to open usb mass storage device or type "usb mass storage device" in the search windows. And right click on it and delete. This will set the policy value to 0. then insert your usb device. It will work fine. # Remember: do not delete any unknow files in the registry as this will make some programes not work as usual. also If you are running a Windows XP OS then you might be able to: - click start right click on my computer select open - Right click the icon of your Flash Drive (It should be F:/ or something) - Click Properties in the menu that comes up - Click the Sharing tab - Click permissions - And finally, click Allow next to Full Control. hope this helps

Check what file system is set to on the Format page.

You may have to use FAT32 (usually flash cards do).
