Audio problem

If you are using onboard sound then the driver is located on your motherboard installation cd. If you do not have the cd you can go to the board manufacturers website; click on the support link; lookup your specific board model # and select the operating system you are running. A list of all available drivers/bios files will appear. Download and install the latest sound driver. Reboot and you should be all set. Hope this helps.

Having a problem with power i try to turn on but

try removing all your cards and ram, disconnect all cables but the fan power switch and ATX power and if it still does the same thing, your board has died. If not, plug things back in one by one trying each time. When you find something that makes it do this again when connected, that component is bad.

Rf encoder device driver

I understand and sympathize. If you want to give us your information, substituting the word computer with "rf encoder". Has this thing ever worked? The problem that worries me is the absence of a manufacturer. No manufacturer means no files, no archives, no instruction manuals. I can almost say that you could put one together with less trouble... Anyway, I will pass it to the proper guy that fixes RF. I used to be in broadcasting (AM, FM, SW, VHF, UHF...radio & TV). Send the info in and then we see what we can do. I will need a detailed description of operation, plus what is standard below. Since this is a peculiar situation, I am going to give you my personal Adam Reads Zebra Oscar Bakes Charlie Oscar Nancy Sit with Tom at Yahoo Dot Com. Of course we will have to obtain the permission of my manager, but that should be no problem. We all like unusual things...

We can help you fix your computer, but we need certain information first. (1) Name of Manufacturer and/or Computer; (2) Name of the Model and Number; (3) the ID of *********** board. If you cannot find it we can help you. (4) The sequence of events in detail. What was going on, just a while before the failure, during the failure and after the failure. Once we have all this information, we will enter it to our mathematical model, which will become your computer, then we will duplicate you problem. We will be giving you instructions, which you will need to follow, precisely. Once we get what we need, it will be no time and your computer will be fixed by you! Thank you for your consideration and decision to use our service. My name is Constantin (arzconst is my internal nickname with Fixya.com)

Motherboard driver

Go to the motherboard's manufacturer's website. The motherboard manufacturer should be printed somewhere on the board. If not, try to Google the model number printed on the board.

As a last thought, sometimes motherboard manufacture's all use the same sound drivers for their various boards (ex. Realtek), so if you cannot find it for your specific board, you might try installing a different board's sound drivers that are the same for your board.

DDR2's only showing half installed RAM

IF THE SYSTEM SAYS YOU HAVE 1GB RAM THAN YOU HAVE 1 GIG OF RAM, EVEN THOU SOMEONE TOLD YOU YOU HAD 2-512MG=1GB.

HERE IS HOW I SEE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING YOU HAVE 2-DDR-2 1 GIG STICKS THAT MEAN IF 1 IS INSTALLED THAN YOU HAVE 1 GB AND IF YOU COULD GET 2 STICKS WORKING TOGETHER THAN YOU WOULD HAVE 2GB RAM.
1 CHIP SET = 1GB RAM
2 CHIP SET = 2GB RAM

YOU MOTHERBOARD MAY NOT ALLOW THAT MUCH RAM, OR WHAT I MEAN THE BIOS MAKE UP THE AMOUNT OF RAM.

TO RULE OUT ANY BAD CHIP SETS OR GOOD RAM OR BAD RAM.

TAKE THE PEACE OF RAM THAT IS WORKING OUT AND REPLACE IT WITH THE OTHER PEACE AND SEE IF IT WILL RUN.
IF IT WORKS THAN LEAVE THAT ONE IN PLACE AND INSTALL THE SECOND PEACE IN THE SECOND SLOT.
IF BOTH CHIP SET ARE GOOD THAN BOTH SHOULD WORK OKAY TOGETHER.
IF THERE IS A PROBLEM, IT MAYBE SOME DUST IN THE MEMORY LOTS
OR THE SLOT MAYBE DAMAGED.
OR
THE CHIP DESIGN LAYOUT MAYBE THE OPPOSITE SIDE, THIS MAY MEANS THE CHIPS MAY FACE EACH OTHER, OR FACE OUTWARD FROM EACH OTHER.

RAM DDR2 PC 1300

DDR 2 will _not_ work the way it's supposed to in a DDR slot, if at all. If you want to see what memory your computer can use, go to crucial.com or similar website for a free scan of your computer. From the spec. sheet it looks like your machine takes a maximum of 2 sticks of 1 gig each (for a total of 2 gigs) DDR SDRAM, either 333 or 400MHz of memory

USB 2.0 (Chipset VIA 8237) ECS P4M800-M7 Unknow Device

Hi, John

The USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 is a big issue regarding technology, the 1.1 has maximum speed of 12 megabits where as 2.0 has upto 480 Mbps. And all USB 2.0 devices are compatible with 1.1. Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional are both fully USB 2.0-compliant with the correct drivers.

So in your case it must work properly. But if the USB 2.0 from microsoft got currepted or badly updated by some thirdparty USB 2.0 driver then it will not work. I have been faced this problem. After doing some stuff I found that if I uninstall the USB drivers and reinstall it from microsoft driver then it works.

So, just go to the Device manager and un-install the USB drivers, then reboot the system to parmanently delete the removed driver. Then install the driver from Windows XP CD.

good luck

Thanks
Iqbal
