If the sides are hot, look at the defrost timer. Sounds like it has stopped running with the defrost elements on. The compressor has a safety switch on it that opens either if the compressor gets too hot or if it pulls too much current when starting. If your power flickered a lot before coming back on, that triggered the safety switch. Now that it's running normally, I wouldn't worry. The defrost timer is your problem now.

watch this video I made. this is subzero with low level of freon (almost out). same situation on all refrigerators and freezers. you can see ice at the begging of evaporator. if there would be a little more freon evaporator might of frost up at the top might frost half of evap other half would be not even cold.
I see that your Frigidaire freezer is making noise and you have recently defrosted it, but your freezer is still making the noise. Your freezer will make certain noises which are normal operating noises for the freezer.
The compressor is a high efficiency so you may hear it during start up and while running. Additionally, refrigerant circulating through your freezer can make a tapping sound or even a gurgling noise. I hope this has been helpful. -Matt
I see that your door ajar alarm is going off when the door is closed to your Frigidaire freezer. It sounds like a possible issue with the control panel or switch. I understand that the top of your Frigidaire freezer is not cold but the lower half is. I would recommend to perform a defrost on your freezer, I understand that it is a frost free freezer but it could be that maybe something has caused it to freezer over. You can perform a manual defrost by unplugging your appliance for four to six hours. If that is unsuccessful and you are still not getting cooler temperature up top I would seek assistance from a professional to come out and diagnose your appliance. -Matt

Did your freezer previously experience a power loss? If the temperature of food rises to an unsafe level, the buzzer will sound and the red light, if equipped, will also glow. First, deactivate the alarm to your freezer by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker. It is good to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on your freezer. After deactivating the alarm and your freezer has run approximately four hours, the red light/alarm should go off on its own. If the red light/alarm continues to stay on, your freezer may possibly have a communication problem with the control board, temperature control or a wiring harness. If this is the case, I would recommend connecting with an experienced technician to determine the underlying cause. - Z
