Frigidaire electric cooktop locked
I appreciate your post, friend!
I noticed your question is labeled under Frigidaire cooktop model, FEC30S7E. I have located the Use and Care Guide for your cooktop and I was unable to locate a lock feature. You could perform a reset on your appliance and you can do that by unplugging the power cord or flipping the circuit breaker off for ten minutes.
If that does not correct your issue could you please provide me with your model number? Usually you can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) inside your burner box or on the outside of the appliance base. With that information I can look further into your model. I look forward to assisting you. -Matt
Caps come on my cooktop but indicator light wont come on
Hi George - Thank you for your post! Let's try resetting the
cook-top by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker to
the off position. It is important to wait roughly ten minutes and then turn the
unit back on. If resetting the power does
not correct the issue, your appliance could be experiencing a communication
error with the EOC (electronic oven control) or a potential wiring failure. You
may wish to reach out to an appliance expert who is best equipped to pinpoint
the exact problem, which can often save you funds and a headache.
The front right burner isnt working
Most common fault is the hotplate element is faulty and requires replacement followed by a burnt off terminal at the hotplate terminal followed by a faulty control switch.
The burners work but they are really not very hot.
if you have a ceramic cooktop now the elements will cycle on and off at whatever heat level you have them set at. it does take some getting used to especially after a gas appliance where you expect instant heat. a lot of people don't like them, i have had one now for several years and i did get used to it. so hang in there.
Bad Electric Cooktop Dual Element Switch
Our Frigidaire Gallery electric cooktop dual burner would not work when either the single or double mode was selected. I did not have the electrical schematic available to use for troubleshooting the switch and initially was not certain if the switch or heating element was bad.
In thinking about the situation, I deduced that the problem was most likely the switch being bad as it was highly unlikely that both elements of the dual element burner would be bad at the same time. I ordered a new switch, received it a few days later, and replaced it in about 25 minutes. Upon turning power to the cooktop on and trying the new switch, both elements of the burner worked as expected.
Our Frigidaire Gallery induction cooktop is 'locked'. How to unlock?
Press and hold the keypad with the padlock icon until you hear a beep. This should be about 3 seconds. This will toggle the lock on and off. I used the documentation for the Frigidaire FGIC3067MB to check this. On this model, the lock keypad is to the left of the Keep Warm keypad. https://www.frigidaire.com/Kitchen-Appliances/Cooktops/Induction-Cooktops/FGIC3067MB/ . The manual is here: http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodinfo_pdf/Lassomption/318205604en.pdf . The control panel is shown on page 5 and the lock function is shown on pages 6 and 9.
I hope this helps.
