Frigidaire AEQ7000ES Dryer Questions & Answers
WHAT DOES THE E66 MEAN ON MY AFFINITY DRYER
Good Morning Friend, this is Z, Thank you for your inquiry!
An error code E66 is associated with the heating element relay. A technician would typically check the ohm resistance of the relay to determine if it is the cause of the error code on your Frigidaire dryer. If the readings are incorrect, the heating element is replaced. If the readings are incorrect, it could potentially be the main control board. This is not a normal DIY job so you may want to connect with a local servicer to determine the exact diagnosis. I hope this helps explain the error code you are receiving.

Dryer won't run just buzzes then displays "pause" with help I can hold the door switch spin the drum and have someone hit the start button and it will run. Do I need a new motor or just a start capaci
will have to check with a meter to confirm either or?
normally if ur capacitor is bad u can remove it and shake the unit, if it rattles its bad. other wise do a meter test.
If you hear a humming/clicking sound from motor area you more than likely have a bad motor.
Try this test out to see if u have weak windings or relay/capacitor on motor.
Open the dryer door and turn by hand the drum while machine is on ON position. And you or someone else presses the door engagement switch in. If it starts up then u have bad windings
Another thing to check is the belt safety switch. With a multi meter.
Especially if u just replaced the belt. The belt safety switch is attached to the Tensioner and motor. IT LOOKS LIKE A DOOR SWITCH SOMEWHAT a little black pc of plastic with 2 prongs going into it. Sits at bottom of motor. Under the Tensioner. Attach meter clips to the 2 prongs on switch, Then when the little white push button is pressed in it should show continuity and none when released.
Lastly check ur DOOR SWITCH for continuity with a meter when the button is pushed in the (on/Door closed position,) it may have gone bad.

Sudden stop
Do you have an error code displayed ? If so what is that. If not the either the door switch is faulty or the control board. More likely to be the door switch but, strange things do happen. Here is the door switch number 134813601. If you need help installing or more info let me know.

My frigidaire was not drying
This is a board communication problem If this is a "Affinity" dryer, you may need to replace the control board. But lets try this first:
MODEL DIFFERENCES: • Better models have a digital readout display
• Good models do not have a digital readout display
READING ERROR CODES 1. Position cycle selector knob to the 3 O'clock position.
2. Press and hold the Select and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously for six seconds.
3. Immediately after, press and hold the START and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously for 4 seconds.
4. Rotate the cycle selector knob to the 2 O'clock position.
On better model dryers, the error code will appear in the digital display. On good models, the five indicator lights of
Drying, Cool Down, Wrinkle Rid, and Clean Lint Filter Spin will flash the number of times for the first digit of the code
and the START indicator light will flash the number of times for the second digit. Take separate counts of each indicator
light, then repeat to confirm in order to be accurate in identifying the proper error code. The code is obtained by counting
the number of times the lights flash. Example E24: The five indicator lights would flash twice indicating the 2 and the
START indicator light will flash four times indicating the 4. The five indicator lights and the STARTindicator light start
flashing at the same time. The control will pause for 2 seconds, then repeat the code.
Note: A letter appearing in the code stands for a number higher than nine.
A = 10 B = 11 C = 12 D = 13 E = 14 F = 15
Example Code E4A: the first digit would be 4 and the second digit would be 10. If this code would appear on a dryer in
the Good model line, the five indicator lights would blink four times and the START indicator light would blink ten times.
Troubleshoot problem by using chart below.
To move on to the next code, press the OPTIONS button. To clear code, press the Select button.
To exit this mode, simultaneously press and hold the Select and Pause Cancel buttons for six seconds.
Let me know what you find and we will take it from there.

Runs but no heat
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. No heat issue is this type of dryer is usually cause by the Thermal fuse going bad. The thermal fuse is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. When this fuse goes bad it should be replaced as it cannot be repaired. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Thanks

Fridgidaire dryer model aeq7000eso isn't heating
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. No Heat issue in an electric dryer is usually caused due to three things mainly: Thermal Fuse, Wiring Harness and/or Heating Element. Start with checking the Thermal Fuse which is mounted inside the back cover panel to the exhaust duct and is mounted in white plastic housing. If thats fine then the Heating Element should be checked. Please do revert for further assistance.
Thanks

I need to purchase the control board
Ok. Check an appliance repair shop for the part or Google the part number. You'll be surprised by how many places that sell control boards for your particular dryer

The dryer gives E68 it starts running dor 30
the code 68 on the aeq7000es series is indicative of stuck buttons [your control buttons on the front]They sometimes stick in the closed position or go open [fail] and I have found the bad switch and replaced just the bad switch[ there should be a series of test to determine which switch button is bad] and if the switch buttons are testing good ,then it's control panel time. The control panels are about $150.00 on ebay ,sometimes you can find a "make offer" deal, but their few and far between.

Dryer will start but stops and lights just blink.
The heating element have got old and
brittle over time and finally gave up the ghost. But it is not always the element. It could be one of the safety Hi-limits have blown. All parts of the dryer will have continuity if its working properly. Test for continuity by using a meter set on Ohms,or use a poor man's meter. You can make your own poor man's meter by using an ordinary flashlight . Break the circuit in the flashlight and add a couple of wires to it so that you can make the light come on in the flashlight, that's right hot wire that flashlight. When the bulb lights up you have a circuit! You now have a poor man's meter. The next step is to check each little
gizmo on the dryer that the wires attach to. All the
limits attached to the side of the heat element, the door switch (when door is closed) etc.should have continuity (closed circuit)(the light should come on in the poor man's meter) If you come across an thing near the blower housing with 2 wires attached to it, that is a thermal limit, a safety or a control thermostat (So as not to get a false circuit you need to remove one of the wires to each thing you check) Look for lint buildup or blocked vent going out the house. If everything is good and you have paid the electric bill, then the
timer could be bad.

ERROR CODE 68
code 68 [aeq7000es series]relates to "stuck buttons, or control panel issues. Try to see if your dryer will give you the code for which button is stuck and try to wiggle it to free it up if stuck. If all buttons check out good then you most likely have a bad control panel ,and its time to find your best deal on one
