If the dryer has dual or triple heating elements, one element, or the relay controlling one element, could be open circuit, ( failed). mostly likely is a failed heater element. The elements work together or separately to combine the heat settings. there could be a high and low element, that do the different ranges. it could be that when it is on medium or high, it's really a lower combination of heat, and it may not be easy to observe, but on the low settings, the chosen element is completely open and failed and provides not heat at all. if medium and high are really low and medium, and low and medium-low is really nothing, then 1 element is probably open circuit. ( failed).

that isn't a model number and kenmore doesn't make anything so you have to send the full model number off of the dryer,open the door look around the opening where you put the clothes in and send the model number,if it's beeping and starting on it's own it sounds like you have a computer board problem with it but can't help you without the model number.

When I read to manual, it said it was the lint. I use a paint brush to brush the lint off and usually the beeping stops.

Mine has been beeping incessantly as well. Turned out that even though I was cleaning the filter after each load, there was still a ball of lint the size of a tennis ball that was blocking the lint sensor. To fix, I removed the screws from the plastic piece that holds the lint trap and slid it out (it won't come out entirely.) Then I used the mini attachments for my vacuum to remove the lint from the bottom of that space. Once I did that, the dryer has been working flawlessly.

Mine did the same thing. It started right after the warranty ran out. I dealt with it for a long time until 1 day it wouldn't stop running. I saw a couple internet posts about defective circuit boards in this model so I got brave and took mine apart. Once I got the board out and examined it I found 7 or 8 cracked solder joints, including the main power supply to the board. I reheated them with a soldering iron and added a little bit more solder to a couple of them and now my dryer works like the day it was new.

If the door is opening in mid-cycle, then the dryer will stop running. Also, make sure the plug is in the socket tightly. Unplug it.
Remove the 2 screws on the back side to get the top off.
Slide the top off and take the 2 control panel screws off lift up the control panel and get he tech sheet out. Consult it to find out about them beeps. Use this LINK to access service videos for your machine.
