Leave it alone. DO NOT attempt to create a drain. As long as a window A/C unit is installed properly, (angled slightly down toward the rear) it will drain excess water over the rear lower lip of the unit should it get that high. Many models use some of the collected water/condensation. It gets lifted up by the fan blades to cool the coil.

have you unpluged it for a hour then tried it? give it a try.

window units slide into an outside frame section there is a hose attachment area at the back of the ac unit proper that a hose can be attached to and there should be a section in the frame that allows the hose to be fitted to that ac unit proper the unit should be mounted so that it actually slopes slightly down at the rear so water can collect at that drain point there are adaptors that should have come in the packing box for hose attachment if not, many people use white poly piping or electrical conduit with suitable elbows to collect the water at the hole and pipe it back to the wall into a bucket and the collected water used to water plants and gardens

re install the ac,give the ac 3mm slope

Look at the drain tube that goes between the evaporator side into the condenser side for obstructions if water puddles up on the bottom of the unit. Make sure the inlet air filter isn't plugged up too.

Does it have much coolant in?

behind the dilter is the evapator and behind the evaperator and underneath is the pan that holds the condensate. look at the pan and see how dirty if it is then clean it . Check the evap coil to be certain it is clean . and double check that it is tilted enough . 1 inch or a bit more hope this help let me know

Hi Shawn: A 110 air conditioner would only use 1/2 of the available 220, so , the answer is yes, with a great BIG CAUTION!!!!! You have to know how to safely wire in the appropriate plug. - 220 usually will have 4 wires: Red, Black, White, and Green. You get 220 between the red and black, the White is available for 110 to drive a fan or whatever. - 220 sometimes only has 3 wires: Red, Black, and green Here you have 220 with no 110, like a baseboard heater. - 110 has 3 wires: RED OR BLACK, White, and Green. You get 110 between the Red or Black and the white. The White is called Neutral. Do not use the green wire as a neutral if there is no white. The green wire is a ground and is for safety purposes. PLEASE!!!! If this is not perfectly clear and within your ability, DO NOT TRY TO WIRE IT! Get someone who is trade certified to help you. Also, don't even think about messing with the wiring unless the circuit breaker is turned off..

You need a step down transformer, to convert 220V to 110V. You can't just plug the 110V A/C unit in directly unless it is clearly marked as being suitable for multi-voltage supply (110V - 220V input). Such a transformer has to be of sufficient capacity to handle the current, or wattage, that will be required. The Frigidaire unit in your question is a 3.5 kW cooling capacity, so the transformer would need to be about the same, ie for a 10A supply at least. Check to see if it has excess water draining out. It might be clooged somewhere.

Your A/C unit has a short inside or a motor locked up. If it trips immediately I would suspect a short.

I'm not sure why that drain hole is located where it is - but in any case - you're going to have to plug the existing hole and re-drill another drain hole at the back of the unit.

I would plug the unwanted hole with a 'liquid steel material,' i.e. JB Weld or something similar.

Note: be careful when re-drilling the new drain hole and don't drill a hole in your condenser.

These are designed to retain some water in the pan. This is for the slinger fan to throw water through the condensing coil. This helps the refrigerant cool and is important to the efficiency of the unit. I would certainly not recommend drilling a hole in the bottom. The hole may cause the water to roll somewhere where damage could occur. Try instead tipping the unit Backwards before bringing it in the house.

From my understanding your Frigidaire air conditioner is rapidly turning on and off, this could be due to restricted air flow. First, I would check to make sure the air filter is clean because a restricted air filter could cause this problem. Secondly, check to make sure nothing is blocking the air flow like drapes, blinds, or furniture. Lastly, your condenser coil could be dirty or blocked I would make sure if it installed in the window that no bushes or trees are blocking the coil. I hope this helps. -Matt

When your air conditioner was installed, you would have wanted to make sure that the top rail and sliding panels at each side were offset to provide the proper pitch to the rear of (5/16"). This is necessary for proper condensed water utilization and drainage. If you are not using the Side Panels for any reason, this pitch to the rear must be maintained! There are no fuses on such units, have you reset the GFI plug if it has one? Have you tried another plug or outlet? Clean the air filter and any coils or parts you can reach and retry.
