Thanks to all.
What we couldn't work out is what is actual mechanism of anti-flood triggering, and how therefore to reset it - and why all these other fixes work - but then it occurred to us, that problem is when water gets into the base and can't get out.
Our problem was that water inlet at top of washer came loose so water ran down outside the drum but inside the dishwasher, into the base. We tried the tipping method but this just moved water around and I think there must be sensor there which, if it stays wet, leaves anti-flood triggered.
This makes sense because other high level overflows from drum discharge into base - so if it was to overflow, it goes into sealed base only, wets the sensor and triggers anti-flood.
Our solution was patience - tipped it fully on its side, pointed a hot air blower into it for hour or so, then left it overnight. Tipped it back next morning, water which had run into side panel ran out, so it was upright with its base dry - and (touch wood) it worked like a charm.

The machine must be opened and side pannels removed. Work on a table as all connections are visable once you have removed front bottom pannel and back bottom pannel. Remove the side pannels for easy access.
AEG FAVORIT 35085 Vi dishwasher Beeps 5 times and stops
If your AEG FAVORIT 35085 Vi dishwasher beeps five times and stops halfway through a wash cycle, there could be a few potential causes for this issue. One possibility is that there is a problem with the water supply, such as a clogged or partially blocked inlet valve. Another potential issue could be related to the drainage system, such as a clogged filter or a malfunctioning drain pump. It's also worth checking if the dishwasher's spray arms are spinning freely and not obstructed by any debris. If the problem persists, it is recommended to consult the dishwasher's manual or contact AEG's customer support for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting steps and guidance based on your dishwasher's model and any error codes that may be displayed.
The anti flood device has activated on my AEG dishwasher????
If the anti-flood device has activated on your AEG dishwasher, it means that water has leaked into the base of the dishwasher and triggered the safety device. The anti-flood device is designed to prevent water damage to your home and shut off the water supply to the dishwasher.
To resolve this issue, you will need to locate the source of the leak and fix it. Here are the steps you can take:
- Turn off the dishwasher and unplug it from the power outlet.
- Disconnect the dishwasher from the water supply and move it away from the wall.
- Check the inlet hose, outlet hose, and drainage hose for any cracks, damage, or loose connections. Tighten any loose connections and replace any damaged hoses.
- Check the dishwasher door and gasket for any damage or debris that may prevent it from closing properly.
- Check the dishwasher's interior for any leaks, such as a cracked spray arm or a damaged pump.
- Once you have fixed the leak, you can reset the anti-flood device by tilting the dishwasher to one side to allow the water to drain out of the base. Then, level the dishwasher and plug it back in.
If you are unable to identify or fix the leak, it is recommended to call a professional technician for assistance.
My AEG F86070VI dishwasher wont switch on
Did you check the emergency shut off switch? Almost all under the counter dishwashers have a wall switch to interrupt the power. The problem is it can be shut of on accident.
Why is the timer light and alarm still sounding in my dishawasher?
I would check for any bends in anything... a crimp of a wire or bend of a hose can mean the washer will not complete setup and will just refuse like a stubborn mule. If you find no bends or crimps in wires... the brain may be dead. It will be one solid motherboard and should be fairly easy to replace.
