Always check the batteries first but if is it still giving the same fault, your camera is faulty.

Your problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera
which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the
camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with
a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush,
steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen
into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of
the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears
the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, the camera may have
a problem that requires professional repair.
If this response helps, please take a moment to post a rating for me. "Very Helpful" would be appreciated.
Put in fresh batteries and camera telling me
Either the fresh batteries are bad (this can happen), or they were inserted improperly, or the camera is defective somewhere. Measure the voltage on the batteries with a multimeter (voltmeter). Alkaline (regular) AA batteries measure about 1.6v to about 1.5v when new. NiMH (rechargeable) measure about 1.24v when fully charged. Be sure to install them with the + terminal and the - treminal going in the right direction. There should be some indication of this in the battery compartment of the camera. Hope this helps.

Camera will not transfer to PC
I had the same problem with mine. A lot of new cameras are very picky about what brand card you use. The only thing I can tell you is to get another card brand and try it then.
Also, card's have a little switch on them. Make sure it's on unlock.
My camera won't turn on
Take out the battery for like 10 minutes then put it back and turn it on.
It it doesnt work, then try putting a freshly charged battery on it.
Lens error
you should have dropped your camera down. try tapping the device when the message pops up. if it works then you are lucky if no then take it to a service centre to get it done. it costs about 60$
New Nikon Coolpix takes only 8 photos then says it's full
try formatting the memory card by connecting the cam to the computer. when the icon pops up right click on it and then click format. be sure not to do a quick format, but this process will erase all the data in the cam. so make a back up first,
