Your generator may be putting out a square wave as an alternative of a true sine wave. There is typically a circuit in the microwave which monitors the AC line for timing purposes, and a square wave may not be interpreted correctly. You may need to contact the manufacturer or installer.

Error # 7 on my whirlpool gold microwave

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question

Overheated microwave

Hopefully the magnetron thermal cutout or thermostat protected the magnetron from destruction!

It may be the fuse, which is usually located behind the grille or on the floor of the oven behind the control panel or between the door switches.

If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout (TCO) / thermal fuse on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

I came up under the open door of my microwave oven

Sounds like you bent the top hinge. Like you said, you set the door into the hinge on the bottom and then the hing pen goes in on the top. If the top hinge is bent, it will not hold the door on. It will allow the bottom hinge to come back out. You will either need to bend the top hinge back down to where it is about a 1/16 " above the door when the door in set into the bottom hinge are replace the hinge. You should be able to bend it with a big set of pliers but it will be pretty hard.
Boy you did hit pretty hard didnt't you. I hope your ok. Good luck and have a better day.

Ran on power for 10 minutes, thought it was on timer.

First, check the fuse usually located above the display, inside the top lid.  You can't see if it's blown, so you must test it for continuity with a meter or self powered test light.  Usually fifteen amp, and of the ceramic variety.  (available at radio shack type places) If the new one blows instantly, it's likely a door switch shorted out.  If it blows after a few seconds, it could be the magnetron gone bad, or internal arcing.  The main transformer will sometimes short out, but that's rare.   Be absolutely careful, should your fingers venture around the magnatron connections down below, as there is high voltage and current that can kill you.  This warning applies even when it's unplugged!
The door switches operate together, so if one slams the door shut it will often blow the fuse with no other damage.  Sometimes the crow-bar switch will sustain damage in the process.  Usually, if the switches click individually, they're good.  If one doesn't click, it'll almost always be shorted.  They're located behind the door catch, inside the unit beside the display board, and a bit hard to access.  You will need to reach past the magnatron for this, so be careful.

It could be the fuse. You will also need to check the condition and alignment of the door switches.

NO POWER, POPPED CIRCUIT

Two possible causes.

First (and most likely) the circuit is being overloaded. This kitchen circuit may be shared with another appliance (like the refrigerator) which is drawing enough power when both are running to trip the breaker. A Typical kitchen circuit is 20 amp with #12 wiring. So an 1800 watt microwave might draw 13 or 14 amps while a fridge compressor kicking in can surpass 7 amps before it levels off. If this is an older home the kitchen may have a 15 amp circuit with #14 wiring. If the circuit is a 20 amp you will have to split the appliances onto separate circuits. (Under code a kitchen must have a minimum of 2 separate appliance circuits). If it is a 15 amp you might be able to split them as well or may be looking up upgrading the breaker and the wiring from 15amp #14 to 20 amp #12 (but you could still have the same problem).

The other possibility is a short or loose connection. If splitting appliances onto their own circuits doesn't fix this you would probably want an electrician to come in and check for other underlying causes which could represent a fire hazard.

Hope this helps.

Whirlpool(GH7145XF2-0) does not work occasionally

That's how it would sound if you were cooking on a power level less than full power.

If you enter the cooking time and hit Start, it should cook at full power by default and not cycle like you describe.

If you are using some sensor cook setting or automatic type cooking setting, it may cycle like that normally.

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

If you don't have your manual, you can download it free here. Check the lower right area to enter your model. number.

Whirlpool Microwave / Oven. It is showing 'DOOR' when I press Start.

  1. Clean the door sensors: If your microwave is showing "DOOR" when you press start, it's possible that the door sensors are dirty or obstructed.Try cleaning them with a soft cloth or cotton swab23.
  2. Replace the door switches: If cleaning the door sensors doesn't work, it's possible that one or more of the door switches are faulty and need to be replaced. You can follow this video tutorial to replace the door switches yourself3.
If none of these steps work, it's best to contact a professional or the manufacturer's service center for further assistance. I hope this helps!

Where is the fuse for whirlpool microwave model number WMH31017HZ07.

The fuse for the Whirlpool microwave model WMH31017HZ07 is located inside the microwave oven. You will need to remove the outer cover of the microwave to access the fuse. Here are the steps to follow:
  1. Unplug the microwave from the power source.
  2. Remove the screws on the top of the microwave that hold the top grill in place. Remove the grill.
  3. Locate the screws that hold the control panel in place. Remove the screws and carefully pull the control panel forward.
  4. Locate the fuse holder on the right side of the control panel. Remove the fuse holder by pulling it out.
  5. Check the fuse to see if it is blown. If it is, replace it with a new fuse of the same type and rating.
  6. Reinstall the fuse holder, control panel, and top grill.
  7. Plug the microwave back in and test to see if the light is working.
If the light still does not turn on after replacing the fuse, there may be another issue with the microwave and it may require further troubleshooting or repair.
