I f the cord is ok where it connects inside the dryer then There are several other things that could cause this.
A couple of the more common things to check are:
1. You could have a defective door switch. you can check the switch with an ohm meter for continuity.
2. You could also have a bad thermal fuse. Also check this thermal fuse for continuity. this fuse shuts the dryer down if it over heated. if the thermal fuse is bad check your venting for blockage or crimping.
Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heatingthe most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly.

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many differentthings that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Sounds like to me, that you need to check the vent going outside from the dryer. I had the same problem, and found a birds nest in the dryer vent on the outside of my house restricing air flow. If that doesn't fix the problem, look into a new heating element and or thermostats for the dryers. The old ones could just not be getting hot enough anymore. Good luck.

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

No it will not, dryers with 110 volt plugs heat on gas,220 dryers heat with electric, putting a 110 vac plug on dryer for 220vac,the motor will run but it will not heat your 2 options are
1) have a electrician come and run 220 vac circuit
hello trishwadman, i'm sure there are a lot of people who would love to disable this feature. The good news is that you can. You will have to access the inside of the control panel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGIG8Wo5-N4 This video will show you how, but you probably can do it on your on. Just pull the knobs off first.Next you will need to locate the buzzer. https://www.whirlpool.com/digitalassets/MLPDF/Repair%20Part%20List%20-%208180877.pdf If you look at this parts diagram for the dryer. Scroll down to page number 3 and look at PART number 3. That is your buzzer. All you have to do is disconnect one of the wires from the buzzer itself (should have 2 wires connected), and tape the end of the connection (the metal part) with electrical tape. You do not want the loose wire contacting the console or rattling inside of it while the dryer is on. That's all you have to do. No more deafening buzzing at the end of the cycle.I hope this works, and I'm going to go do mine when I'm finished with this. My wife will be very happy if I do. Hope this is helpful to you. Thanks,Mike
notreading in your question that the dryer isnt heating i will assume it is heating yet not dryer the clothes and have ya check for a blocked and or chrushed vent
