Lakewood (5500) Oil Filled Radiator Heater - Page 8 Questions & Answers
Oil filled radiator (lervia oh-gf-9-20) not heating up.
hi, i had the same problem the red lights would come on and also the fan would work but the actual radiator would not heat up.as mentioned in an earlier answer that it was the inline fuse which is actually a thermal fuse and quite slim and you would miss it if you did not look hard enough, my one was on the blue cable under 2 inches of heatsrink tubing.you would have to take small scissors and carfully snip away and expose the fuse and i would recomend taking a picture of the wire so you can check the picture again when replacing the fuse.i brought a 110c fuse from maplin for 82 pence and also brought what they call butt crimping connectors as you can not soldier the fuse on the wire.basically crimp the fuse on the wire and dont forget to use heatshrink tubing to cover the wire and fuse and it should work.
When I plugged in the heater this season I noticed sparking inside. When I opened the back I discovered the RED wire was disconnected. I am not sure what to do or where to re-connect.
Is this a house/home heater system? IF so, you have to be very careful...and MAKE sure the ac power is off, PREVIOUS to doing anything. You could kill your self, or get a severe shock, IF you don't make sure the power is off!...before starting! Ok, once you have determined the power is off (get help if you need it with that, please!)...Look for any connector that has a piece of wire missing, or dis-connected...that will most likely be where to put back the red wire. Use a flashlight, if need be --in order to see well. Once it's determined where the wire goes, you will need to figure out HOW to re-hook it! You may need another like connector, or just may need to screw it into a block that holds all the wiring. Some (actually lots of ) ac wiring is connected with manually screw on connectors...often they have yellow or white (some can be any color) connectors...these type are shaped like miniature " cones" . . . connect the wire, turn the ac power back on, and try the furnace. Hope that helps!

you can go to this web site to purchase a new control board. You will need to test the heater element to make sure that it's not shorted to ground. If you need more help with this just respond to the e-mail you
receive also be sure it is unplugged before testing and short out the end of the plug if it's not hard wired into the wall.

Hello
How can I disassemble my
Why do you need to dismantle this? Some of these types of cooler do not have replaceable parts inside. They are usually classed as a "Throw away" machine. It is often easier and cheaper to replace it than repair it.
