I ran out of fuel.

Do you see any flame at all after it goes through the startup cycle? It is very common for water in the fuel to knock out the igniter. You can check the igniter with an ohmmeter or a clamp on ammeter. You should get somewhere between 10 and 20 ohms with the ohmmeter connected to the 2 ends of the igniter. You should read 2 to 3 amps with a clamp on ammeter around 1 of the igniter leads. If the fuel pump makes a loud ticking or thumping sound when it comes on then the fuel isn't getting to the sump. Check the filter and the strainer in the fuel sump.

I can get the pilot

Try cleaning the thermocouple or replace it. The thermocouple senses heat from the pilot light and in turn brings up the gas to the main burners upon request from the thermostat.

We have a EE2 message.

Unplug the heater before removing the flame rod. Remove the front cover by removing 2 screws, one on each side at the bottom. The flame rod is on the side of the combustion chamber with one wire going to it. You can clean it with some fine sandpaper or steelwool.

Laser 73 will not have

ee 2 is the code for no ignition. This can be caused by a dirty fuel filter or dirty fuel strainer. The flame rod may need to be cleaned. The igniter may be burned out. Could also be a circuit board problem. If the fuel pump makes a loud ticking or thumping noise then it is a fuel flow problem and I would check the filter and strainer first. When checking the flame rod be sure to unplug the heater first.

I HAVE A LASER 72 WILL NOT HEAT GOT A COAD EE 2

EE 2 has several possible causes.
1. Fuel problem
2. Dirty flame rod
3. Bad igniter
4. Circuit board
If the fuel pump makes a loud ticking or thumping sound, you have a fuel problem. The pump makes this sound because no fuel is getting to it. This can be cause by a dirty filter at your tank, a dirty fuel strainer in the fuel sump, you are out of fuel, or have an air bubble in the fuel line.
If the flame rod is dirty, the heater will light then go out after about a minute.
If the igniter is bad the igniter will not light at all. You can test the igniter with an ohmmeter. The resistance reading should be around 17.2 ohms. I usually just use a clamp on ammeter and see if the igniter is drawing any amps when it is starting. If it is, it is good.
You can check for voltage where the igniter connects to the circuit board. It should be 120vac. If not your circuit board could be bad.
Let me know if you need a better explanation of anything. Hope this helps.

I let my tank empty

You may have an air bubble in the fuel line or the filter (if you have one at the fuel barrel) may be clogged. The filter has a vent screw on top and you may need to vent the filter to get the fuel flowing. There is also a strainer in the fuel sump that may have gotten clogged.
Another thing is to push the red float reset button on the right side of the heater. If the float is latched up you will feel a little resistance and hear the float drop. Only press the reset button momentarily. It is not a primer button.
You can get a bowl and some rags to set under the line where it connects to the back of the heater and then loosen the line to make sure you are getting kerosene to the heater.
The fuel pump makes a loud ticking or thumping sound if it isn't getting any fuel.
Let me know if this helps or you need more advice.

My fuel line got air

If the fuel pump is making that ticking or thumping sound, it isn't getting fuel to it or the fuel is coming in so slowly that it can't keep up with the pump. Check the strainer in the fuel sump and check inside the fuel sump. There is screen on the end of the fuel pump also. If you have a filter at your fuel tank, it may need to be changed.

I haven't used my heater

This can be a couple of things. Since the heater hasn't been used in a while I would guess it has something to do with the fuel. Does it make a ticking or thumping sound once it starts trying to light? If it does then no fuel is getting to the pump. You should check the fuel strainer in the fuel sump and take a look in the fuel sump. There is also a screen on the end of the fuel pump. If you have a filter at the tank then it may need to be changed. Does the heater light up at all. Your flame rod may need to be cleaned. Unplug the heater before cleaning the flame rod because it has 120 vac on it all the time when it is plugged in. If you never see any flame, the igniter could be shot. You can test it with an ohmmeter. Hope this helps.

What is cl code mean?

The Toyostove heaters have a cleaning cycle for the igniter. It usually does this at 2:00 am. If you don't have the clock set it will do it whenever it thinks it is 2:00 am. The cleaning cycle usually lasts about 10 minutes and it will count down the minutes only (9,8,7,6...).

Error EE 8 is showing what could be the problem???

EE 8 indicates a problem with the combustion blower. If the blower is running the problem is with the sensor. Make sure the wires for the sensor haven't come unplugged. If the sensor is bad, you will need a new blower. If it isn't running then the problem may be soot and carbon build up on the exhaust fan blade. You will have to remove the fresh air hose on the back of the heater or the rubber boot inside the heater to reach the fan blades. Use your finger or something to reach in and turn the fan blades. You may hear the sound of the carbon breaking loose. Turn it until it spins freely. Let me know if you need anything else.

Error reading ee8

EE 8 is for a blower motor problem. It could be the sensor that checks the blower speed or it could be the blower not running. If the blower is running, the sensor is bad and you will need a new blower. If it isn't running then you may be able to fix it. Sometimes on the Laser 73, soot and carbon will build up on the exhaust fan blades. Remove the fresh air hose, that is the rubber on the back, and look for the fan blades. If you can see them turn the heater on and see if they are turning. If not turn the heater off and try to turn them with your finger. If you hear a noise like something rubbing when you turn it or feel some resistance, keep turning it until the noise stops or it frees up. Now turn it on again and see if the fan runs. If you don't have anywhere local to get parts I can get them for you. You can contact me at [email protected] I may also have a used blower that will work.

Will not start when I press manual button then

fribue,

I am not an expert but I had a similar situation with my 55. My 55 was only making a droning sound when I turned it on. I contacted the company and they told me it could be excess carbon build up in the exhaust fan.

I accessed the exhaust fan from the back of the heater. I took a pencil with an eraser stuck it in the exhaust port and gently begun to spin the fan using the pencil eraser. After a minute or so the exhaust fan starting moving very freely. Then it worked like a charm

I hope this helps.

Hi paradiseland,

I just recently used a 1.5 inch thick aluminum pipe to extend the exhaust and a 2inch pvc pipe to extend the intake. I wrapped the area where the parts meet with aluminum duct tape (the good stuff) to seal any exhaust leaking out. I found a website that sold me the aluminum pipe but I was at my local home center the other day and saw that 1.5 inch think metal electrical conduit pipe would have probably worked.

I have been using this for a month now with no problem.

Good luck

Help- when heater gets to room temp. the

Sir,

If there was a flame in the burner and no circulating fan running the stove would over heat in less than 5 minutes. It would show an EE 6 message. Are you sure there is a flame in the pot? The stove does have a safety feature that allows the combustion fan and circulating fan to run continuously in certain cases. This is a rather extreme case. In any event the circulating fan would be running at the same time the combustion fan was on. To get out of that mode turn the stove off and on again. Now you should be able to restart normally. Keep us posted,

Thanks,

Tom
