Pre-set dial numbers
Pick up the handset / handsfree button,
hit the SET/SAVE key,
punch in the entire phone number you wish to program to speed-dial,
hit the SET/SAVE key again, hit the speed dial key you want to save to (0-9).
To actually use the speed-dial key once set, you have to pick up the handset / handsfree, hit the AC key followed by your speed dial (0-9)
I know this seems unusual and you have to do it relatively quick, but it's the only way that works properly on this phone unit.
Cheers!

Do you have cable for your phone service? I had the same problem, called the cable company and they switched the cable box in my house. Problem solved.

Works in one house but not in another
Yes these phone's are sensitive to the phone jack its plugged into as it powers the backlight and the whole phone itself. You need to check and see at the NID Network Interface device outside and check and see how much voltage you got comming in there. This is a problem too with the phone is if you have more then two phones in the house on this NID, Trust me I have this phone and it is verry sensitive and it requires poer to run the unit this is a factory issue as well they built these phones without thinking about the customers situation.
thanks

Volume control
Dear lowis
Check weather it requires an external power, if it requires then u need to supply it, else if it doesnt require an external power then it is the settings at the subscriber end, which we can not do anything unless we request or complain them. And it is not the fault with the instrument. But note that the instrument mechanism could be designed with a low amplification which means it has poor circuit.

Got a dialling tone but couldn't make a call
Cnavarro,
my existing phones work fine but the new phone is really weird. tested Ok at the supplier's store and perfect at my friends' houses. But once tested at any of the phone outlet in my house, after keying the first 3 numbers....PLEASE CHECK YOUR NUMBER AND DIAL AGAIN etc... the scenario telling me my phone service in my house is OK and the new phone tested OK at other locations.
????
See if you could give me some clues....thanks

Unable to dial out
I don't know whay I did sorry, but it now works. I was going thru different functions and when I tried again it workd. I jist noticed when it dials out it makes the old fashioned rotary dialing sound after ea number selected. I'm just glad it works.
Also it is not compatible with the home phone features of my service provider like *98 to access msgs.
Thanks, I look forward to using the Christmas ringtone!\

If anyone still needs the manual / guide for this phone,
I have posted it at http://www.esnips.com/web/pubdocs
It is only one page. I should remain there indefinitely.
Cheers.

I want to get rid of the batteries
werascal: It can be done. First look at the appliance body to see if there is a power jack. If not and your a tech type person you can do this: I assume the batteries are in series, if so their total sum equals 4.5 volts. You can direct wire your supply to the battery string ends, polarity observed correct with a supply voltage of 4.5 and bingo no need for batteries. Thanks for the question. Jerry
