Plantronics cs55 problem

Turn on the wireless headset as soon as the HL10 lifter picks up the headset. Remember to press the call answer switch. A steady green light should come on the base and the wireless headset should have a small green blinking light on, on its side.

* Make sure your hand receiver is off the hook when using the headset. Also check that you hear a dial tone on the handset/hand receiver before turning on the headset.

Hi, one of our Call Center workers cannot hear the ringing phone when she has the headset onWhat's your problem?

The ring from the telephone is picked up by the internal microphone on the HL10 Handset Lifter, typically for most phones, the lifter sits directly over the speaker grill on the telephone where the sound comes out. For telephones that curve out on the left side and don't have a straight edge, there is an accessory called a "Ring Detector" which is used. Here's a link: HL10 Nortel Adapter Kit - 46780-01 If the internal mic on the lifter has gone out, you can plug the ring detector into the handset lifter and just stick the ring detector over the speaker grill to pick up the ring. Plugging this into the lifter will bypass the internal mic, this accessory would have come with your HL10 lifter. You can also check the ring volume on the telephone, and you can also try adjusting the ring tone on the phone (sometimes it will pick up one ring tone better than another). Here is a link below if you need to order a new ring detector:HL10 Nortel Adapter Kit 63014-01Good luck from Headsets Direct!

I cannot here the phone

You will need the Plantronics HL10 handset lifter in order to have the CS55 ring, indicating an incoming call. The HL10 also allows you to answer remotely on most phones and hang-up remotely.

I can hear but customer can't hear me

You either have it set on mute or the mouthpiece isn't adjusted properly. Do a sound check to make sure it's where it needs to be.

Person on the other end receives a bad feed back when I am talki

This may be caused by a few things.

1. Check the configuration dial on the left hand side of the base to see if another setting works better. The recommended setting for most phones is 1.

2. Make sure your speaking (transmit) level is not too high. First, try lowering the volume on the telephone. If you still hear distortion, adjust the volume of the headset. The master transmit controls are the ABCD switch settings on the bottom of the base. A is the lowest and D is the highest setting. You can fine tune this setting with the Plus (+) and minus (-) buttons on the back of the base that are above and below the picture of the microphone.

3. Double check the battery has a full charge.

The Amber Charge light on the base will flash while charging and will stay solid amber when fully charged.

3 hours = full charge

4. Make sure the headset has been paired to the base.

PL-CS55 headset lifts receiver but only get buzzing sound in

Try a system reset:
1. Lift the headset off of the charging cradle (the base).  Make sure the headset is turned off.  The green light on the base won't be on if the headset is turned off. 2. Hold down the call answer button on the headset at the same time as mute button.  The mute button is found on the little black wheel on the top of the headset.  Use the tip of your finger to push it straight in. 3. Hold both buttons until you see a green light on the headset flash.  It will be right below your thumb.  Hold both buttons until the green light flashes for a series of 2 flashes.  Then let go of both buttons. 4. Put the headset back on the charging cradle and wait 30 seconds.  Lift it back off and try again. 5. If this doesn't work repeat the process once more or try a resubscription.
Resubscription procedure:
1. Put the headset back onto the charging cradle.  Make sure the red light on the base is on and the yellow light is flashing. 2. On the back of the base there are two buttons for the microphone adjustment that can be pressed down.  Press both of those down until the red light and yellow light on the front of the base start flashing. 3. While the headset is still on the charging cradle press and hold the mute button until the red light on the base goes solid, and the yellow light stays flashing. 4. Unplug the power to the base and then plug it back in. 5. Wait 20 seconds and try.

Bad Sound

Check the telephone configuration dial: Refer to this picture to see what I'm talking about: http://headsetplus.com/images/cs55_controls.jpg
Make sure this dial is on 1.  Most of the time 1 works, however if it is already on 1 and you're still having problems, twist the wheel around through the different numbers and try this.
Have you tried turning the major sound adjustment up?  It's on the back of the base.  4 is the lowest setting and 1 is the highest.
Finally, try changing the volume on the phone itself.  One of these should work.
One last thing, make sure that the cord coming from the back of the base is plugged into the handset jack of the phone, not the headset jack, and that the coily cord coming from the phone's handset is plugged into the front of the cs55 base unit.

The microphone in the lifter was not centered over the microphone on my phone, so all I did was centered the lifter over the microphone, and it works.

Caller can't hear me when I talk.

Check to see where the CS55 is plugged into in your phone (The cord coming from the back).  You should NOT have it going into the headset jack of the phone.  It should go into the phone receiver jack, and the phone receiver coily cord should go into the front of the CS55 base unit.

I have plantronic headset model CS55 the green light is blinking

Either the battery is low, or the unit is switched on.  If you're looking at the base unit of the CS55, on the right hand side there is a switch that either points to I or II.  If it's on II, your headset will be activated the second it is removed from the base.  If it's on I, it won't turn on, thus it won't turn the light on.  Check to make sure that dial is on I instead of II, and when you pick it up you shouldn't have that problem anymore.
If it's a problem with low battery you have to make sure that when you place the headset on the charging cradle that it's securely seated in there.  Also make sure that you clean the charging contacts (the brass-coloured contacts on the headset and on the base) about once a month with rubbing alcohol.

No sound, not able to pickup receiver

On the CS55 headset itself, right below the speaker that sits on the ear is a cover that can be removed.  Inside is a small special battery.  The battery life tends to last about 3 years, and at that you should be getting 8 - 10 hours of talk time.  Once it's decreased to about 4 hours of talk time in a day, it's about time to replace the battery.
