The power light does NOT
As far i can tell,u said the tv u unpluging,repluging the tv back awhile later the tv will function and work is that correct?Yes,this problems,alway related to the tv power supply board,that the board where the tv power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.U said u tried programing the remote,is the remote u have and using is a universal remote,u don't have the tv original remote?Yes,try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote too.

No sound
Just a possibility, but if you are on satellite signal try unplugging the satellite receiver for 30 seconds and plugging back up. Otherwise check the menu in the sound section to see if your speakers are on. Also you might have the set on mute so check your remote for this. The worse case is your audio amp or the microprocessor inside the set which is usually described as the main board.

The power adapter cord has
hi there, good thing you detect it earlier. Heres my tips cut that wire and try to solder it. Or if soldering is not possible rewire it by tie it together and coat with electrical tape for safety. It is possible that you have a cold contact on the supply. Hope this helps. Please rate and vote. Good day

HI:
Check the power supply for puffed up capacitors and make sure all voltages from the power supply is good and in nominal range. This is usually an indication of a power supply failure.
