Looking for video card suggestion. have t6216

i have a 7300gt nvidea in mine right now... ok, but not the best. runs dx9. and it helps to get the bios update from the emachines site to help with nvidea compatibility. To run most games now, you might need more ram, and for the price, a barebones with your old parts thrown in might be a better deal. The 7300gt is pretty cheap if you are just looking for a quick cheap upgrade for now. It works with the original 300 watt psu and works ok for me with 2.5 gb ram (2-4 gb extra ram realllly helps!). I think tiger direct has some nice deals on barebones and cards, it kinda changes daily.

I have no sound because

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the (((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there also click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer hope this helps don

My T6216 Emachine stopped working. None of the

Even if those things power up doesn't mean your PSU is still good.
In particular the PSU in eMachines are known to be cheap/bad and one of the first things to go out.

If you have access to one try another ATX power supply.
You don't have to remove the old one just to test.

1) Unplug the existing PSU power cable from the back.
2) Remove all it's connections (MB, drives, etc).
3) Plug the other PSU in with just the two MB connections (the main, and 12v one), skipping any drives for now.
It's probably ok if the test one is not touching, but I like to put the PC on the side with the test PSU setting on top where the original one is making sure it has good contact with the case to make sure it's grounded.
4) Now plug the AC into the test PSU and power it up.

If it still dosn't power up it's probably MB, or CPU.
You could also unplug it again (you always want to unplug the PSU when doing anything, the power is always on), and try removing any add on cards (like your wireless card), and try again.

If it does power up (you get a POST screen), unplug PSU again, now plug-in drives, then AC back and see if it will boot up.

The purple light is flashing in the front and

This can be a faulty power supply or a damaged mother board. here's how you can confirm.

When pressing the power button, inspect the cooling fan that is located on the back of the power unit where the power cord plugs in. if the fan starts then stops immediately, this will confirm a damaged power supply.

Now, if the fan continues to operate but, the CPU doesn't start to power up and load the OS, thsi will confirm a mother board issue. replace the mother board in this case.

When I turn it on, only the fans run. I

look on bios to see if detects the hard drive ...if does not boot to windows...the hard disk has no reason to go on ....and the issues could be many ....check the Ram memory if do not appear anything on screen at all ...and just runs the coolers and clicks without boot at all...in this case its the Ram memory ...so check it ...get it out ..put it back ...and remove the bios battery to force it see them again .....if it is booting until the operating system should appear ...and after that nothing ...reinstall ...
Also .....if there is anything written on the screen ..read carefully ..usually it will say whats wrong ...and advise in same issues..like replace hdd ...or files missing ...or blue screen error from memory issues..

Power wire came undone need to attach back need to

Desktops and laptops have a unique connectors for power. Look at the end of the power cord (the end that plugs into the computer) and look at the back of the computer for a similar "hole". The plugs only fit one place and have a up-and-down orientation. So if it fits, it is installed properly.
In fact, all connections to computers are unique in size and shape. Makes it easy to reattach wires and prevents you from hooking up incorrectly.

The cd drive in my emachines t6216 doesnt work

first open the case and check if the power connector ,and other cables are still connected to the drive. if they are there disconnect the power cable ( while the computer is running and Plug and Play should notice it). then run add new hardware app to see if the system did recognize it, then check the device manager if its there. reinstall the drivers for the burner drive and run program ,and see if it runs ok, if not the drive is bad and will need to be replaced.

Can find ethernet connection

Install the driver for your ethernet card. Or see in device manager if it has an exclamation mark. If X try to enable it.

Or if you are using a router or some networking device some should be set manually.
