How to conect the on off reset

Biostar Support > A75MG mobo > Main Support page,http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=594&tab=3[MOtherBOard]Click on the Download tab.(Overview / Specification / Accessories / CPU Support / Memory Support ./ Download)Under the - Manual subheading is - AA75-M1S_120903_B.zipClick on the small blue Download Arrow in the sheet paper icon, under the heading - Download.A small window will come up - Opening AA75C-M1S_120903_B.zipMake SURE there is Green dot in the small circle, to the left of -Save File.If not; click in the empty circle to the left of - Save File.Go below in the small window, and click on - OK.A small download window will come up. Allow the file to fully download, then DOUBLE-click right on the file name.In the next small window go to the top/left, and under the subheading - Folder Tasks - click on - Extract all files. At the bottom of the next 3 small windows, click on -Next, Next, and Finish. In the last small window DOUBLE-click on the file to the LEFT -AA75-M1S_120330 - next to the red Adobe PDF icon.(The file on the Right is for BIOS information -AA75C-M1S_BIOS_120903 )There is the Motherboard Manual. The front of your computer is the Front Panel. The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the main wires from the Front panel go to, is the Front Panel header. You are after the Front Panel header pinout. The actual manual page number, and the Adobe Reader PDF file page number; DO NOT match. When I refer to a page number it is for the Adobe Reader page number box at top.(To the right of the Down Arrow) Go to Page 6 - Motherboard LayoutPanel_1 represents the Front Panel header.Motherboard installed in computer case, (Processor to Top; Ram memory slots to the Right), there are EIGHT headers along the bottom of the motherboard.Starting on the LEFT side going towards the Right; the Front Panel header is the 7th header.(Or 2nd from the Right)Two rows of contact pins.Go to Page 15 - Detail Settings - PANEL1: Front Panel header[Click on the Zoom In icon ( + ) at the Top of the Adobe Reader, to increase the view size.Use the Zoom Out icon ( - ) to decrease the view size ]Starting on the LEFT side going towards the Right; TOP row,Pins 9, 10, NO pin 11, pins 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16.Starting on the LEFT side going towards the Right; Bottom row,Pins 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.(It is an 8. Whoever printed it out must have been on crack that day)TOP row;A) Pins 9 and 10 are N/C. Not ConnectedB) There is NO pin 11.C) Pins 12, 13, and 14 are for the Power On LED.(Light Emitting Diode, so I will not be stating -> Light. It IS a light)This is for a Power On LED that has THREE wires.Dual color Power On LED.Goes back to the day when there was Turbo, and Normal.(Usually a Green LED, and a Yellow LED.Green for Turbo mode, Yellow for Normal mode.Bunch of cr@p folks! The Turbo mode was the NORMAL mode. The Normal mode, is the computer is actually slowed down! lol! )If you have a Power On LED with 2 wires, connect the Positive ( + ) wire to Pin 13, and the Negative ( - ) wire to Pin 14.(I BELIEVE that's right. If not connect the Positive [ + ] wire to Pin 12, and the Negative [ - ] wire to Pin 14 )D) Pins 15 and 16 are for the Power On switch. (Power On button)E) Pins 1 through 4 are for an internal speaker. (Or 'buzzer')Pin 1 is for the Positive ( + ) wire, Pin 4 is for the Negative ( - ) wire.F) Pins 5 and 6 are for the HarDDrive activity LED.Pin 5 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.If the HDD LED is dim when the harddrive is active, switch the wires around.G) Pins 7 and 8 are for a Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used.(I just press the CTRL, ALT, and DELete keys, AT THE SAME time, to restart the computer)Now you know where the individual wires connect.Remove the Front Panel. If I knew what old computer case it was, I MAY be able to guide you in removing it.Most of the time there are 3 TABS coming from the Front Panel, on the open computer case side.Look inside the open computer case, and at the inside/front near the opening of the computer case. One tab towards the Top, one towards the Middle, and the last tab towards the Bottom. The Tabs are plastic, and part of the plastic Front Panel. They go through small rectangular slots, in the metal framework of the computer case. They have a hooked end on one side. The Tabs need to be either pressed to the INSIDE, to bring the hooked end to the Middle of the slot, or pressed to the OUTSIDE.When the hooked end is in the middle, of the slot in the metal framework of the computer case, then the Front Panel can start to be removed.Start with the Bottom tab. Ease it over so the hooked end is in the middle, of the metal framework metal slot. Ease out on the bottom of the Front Panel, and hold it.Then ease the hooked end of the Middle tab over. The Front Panel should start to come off, and you should be able to let go of the bottom, of the Front Panel. When the Top tab is eased over, the Front Panel will either swing to the opposite side, or start coming straight off.Look at the wires going to the Front Panel. You should be able to determine which wires go to the Harddrive activity LED.There's two wires. Now look at the wires going to the Power On LED.The wires usually look as though they go right to that LED.From there it is just a process of elimination, and you know the last pair of twisted wires go to the Power On switch. It would be nice to have an inexpensive multimeter, right about now. They run about $5 to $12. Available at a multitude of stores. An auto parts store is just one example.I have seen them on checkout aisle racks, at major discount stores, too.Multimeter is set to OHM's. (1K)You check the wires that you think are the Power On switch wires. If you have the right ones, the reading on the multimeter will 'blip'.(The Power On switch is a Momentary Contact Switch. That is why the reading blips, and does not stay on)For additional questions please post in a Comment.Regards, joecoolvette

Does 1rx8 ram go along with 2rx8?

Look at your motherboard manual, it tells you what kind of memory, which slots to use for number of sticks. Your statement makes no sense, 1r, what is this ?There is speed and size of memory.DDR-, DDR 2 or DDR3, then speed, DDR3 2000 which each speed has a corresponding number.DDR3 2000 is called ( PC3 16000 )The chipset of the motherboard dictates what size and speed of memory that it can use.

It scans rom file. If it finds any known errors it fixes the errors. If it finds any closed features it opens it. hope this helps

M7VKL pen boot

If you want to boot from a pen drive ?

bootable USB guide, here we assume that you are using either Vista or Windows 7 to create a bootable USB.

1. Insert your USB (4GB+ preferable) stick to the system and backup all the data from the USB as we are going to format the USB to make it as bootable.

2. Open elevated Command Prompt. To do this, type in CMD in Start menu search field and hit Ctrl + Shift + Enter. Alternatively, navigate to Start > All programs >Accessories > right click on Command Prompt and select run as administrator.

3. When the Command Prompt opens, enter the following command: DISKPART and hit enter. LIST DISK and hit enter.

Once you enter the LIST DISK command, it will show the disk number of your USB drive. In the below image my USB drive disk no is Disk 1.

4. In this step you need to enter all the below commands one by one and hit enter. As these commands are self explanatory, you can easily guess what these commands do.

SELECT DISK 1 (Replace DISK 1 with your disk number) CLEAN CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SELECT PARTITION 1 ACTIVE FORMAT FS=NTFS (Format process may take few seconds) ASSIGN EXIT

Don't close the command prompt as we need to execute one more command at the next step. Just minimize it.

5. Insert your Windows DVD in the optical drive and note down the drive letter of the optical drive and USB media. Here I use "D" as my optical (DVD) drive letter and "H" as my USB drive letter.

6. Go back to command prompt and execute the following commands: D:CD BOOT and hit enter. Where "D" is your DVD drive letter. CD BOOT and hit enter to see the below message. BOOTSECT.EXE/NT60 H: (Where "H" is your USB drive letter)

7. Copy Windows DVD contents to USB. You are done with your bootable USB.

You can now use this bootable USB as bootable DVD on any computer that comes with USB boot feature (most of the current motherboards support this feature).

Note that this bootable USB guide will not work if you are trying to make a bootable USB on XP computer. http://100-downloads.com/publisher.php?pb=http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool&dl=727

Motherboard will not start, believe it is bad capacitors, how di I DIAGNOSE THEM?

Bro, you can't fix bad capacitors on your mb. If it's under warranty then give your computer/mb manufacturer a call. Otherwise you gotta get a new one. FYI if you get a different model your os may have issues with it. If you have windows 7 you should be ok.

Biostar motherboard resumes power after shutdown

There is an option called Wake On Lan. Check your BIOS and disable that option. The name may differ, instead of WAN it may say PCI. Take a look. The second part is the NIC. Look for wake up options. I'm logged in Windows right now and it has that options setting. So does iOS. I imagine so does Ubuntu. I'll check next time I reboot into Ubuntu.GL.

Computer shuts off when i connect the atx 4prong power/grnd lead

laptop or desktop computer ?since you have been inside your computer moving leads around you might have unseated or slightly moved something or it might be something is old and past its use by date

Test your PSU power supply unit or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle of restarting or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive power and data cables IDE SATA

the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your dvd\cd floppy drives have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty computers need power and data to travel through every working device to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error even something as small as a faulty electrical or fan lead can cause you problems

motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail

check all electrical power input and extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

also check the Cmos battery and computer RAM modules make sure they are securely seated with no dust built up or in the sockets on some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in check you CPU central processing unit make sure its securely seated and has thermal paste it might be getting to hot the thermal paste will help disperse the heat Thermal compound is a sticky paste that is placed directly onto the CPU. Allowing for a more direct heat transfer between the CPU and HEAT SINK and preventing air gaps from forming between the CPU and heat sink. hope this helps
