Power constantly re-cycles and won't

dave56511, Your old (possibly 5year old) ccfl back-lit lcd unit may need it's "switch-mode-power-supply" investigated to determine the cause of it's going into "shut-down" mode! My first suggestion is this!! GO VISIT YOUTUBE! There are lots and lots of video clips for you watch. There you will search for and view the useful clips of "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair". After you view a few videos of repairs being done to "switch-mode-power-supplys" and "inverter circuits" you might even attempt to investigate your own monitor. Then you should come back to fixya for more info before you start to repair your unit. You may even want to rate this response on fixya after you do your research. Maybe $6 in capacitors is all you need to be replaced inside your unit to make it happy again!
Bye for now. 12fixlouie

Went black.

Caps inspection first, voltage checking next.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

My Hyundai monitor is making static like noises.

It can be bad filtering caps in the power supply are going out, you need to open it up and inspect the caps first. You may cause more damages if yoo do not unplug it from tthe wall outlet.

yetimonsta, Are you sure that the monitor is BLANK?? Or is it just BLACK? Or is it both BLANK and BLACK? Connect a known good monitor to your pc to prove that your pc is working correctly. What does your L90D+ do when connected to good pc. Have you done the flashlight test to evaluate the state of the "switch-mode-power-supply" when lcd panel goes black /blank?? Theft Deterrence Mode

Ok, solved it! I plugged the monitor into another computer and got the same message. I then installed the imagetune software followed the prompts and then had to restart, when it restarted it went into countdown mode to enter the pin #(which you need and I had). As soon as I entered it tada!!! Put it back in my original computer figuring it would give me the countdown again which it didnt, I found that odd. One thing I should have done is disabled this feature while it was hooked up to the other computer because I still cant access that part on my computer.

Hyundai L90D 19" LCD Black Screen and Clicking Noise

Hello sir, the click you hear usually comes from a relay, the little black/blue square thing on the power board, when the load of the power supply is normal the relay swith on the entire monitor. if it detects an imbalance load usually shorts on the monitor, it shut down the circuit. so check for shorted IC regulator or transistors/diodes. if you have schematic diagrams, you can test the resistance of every IC on the board by locating the VCC and ground pin. (easier said than done). you may need patience to do this. until you find the shorted part. the next step is to remove the part and find a replacement. Try also to check on the internet usually ebay for power board replacement for your TV. hope this helps. = )

Moved from pc to Mac

Hi and welcome back to FixYa,

I was one of those who responded to your original posting. In any case, I believe that you are considering using the DVI. If both the MAC and the monitor has DVI ports, then you would need a cable similar to shown below.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa again.
