Lens error coolpix l6

The lens is probably stuck with a piece of dirt or something jamming it. You could gently try and pull on the lens with a slight turn in each direction to see if you can dislodge the particle.

Some individuals on the internet have felt comfortable enough to try and disassemble the camera to reveal the parts of the lens drive mechanism, clean it and put it back together and this sometimes will help (but that is beyond this response) because there are enough locations on the net that describe this.

Since it's 4 months old, you may want to return it for a replacement.

Other alternatives are:
  1. Carefully use some compressed air around the lens mechanism.
  2. Take the camera back and get a replacement, or
  3. Talk to Nikon and get it serviced.

Hope this helps, if it does, please choose FixYa!

ThankYa!

Error message "power surge on hub" when attempting to upload from N C 5200

Hi, are you using a USB hub or attaching directly to the computer USB port?
  1. If you are using a USB hub, which is then connected to your computer ... you either need to
    1. Plug the camera directly in to the computer so that the computer supplies the USB with more power to the camera.
    2. If the USB hub has a power plug/adapter, use it so the USB hub gets more power to handle the task.
    3. Buy a different USB hub that has a power adapter so enough juice can be supplied to the tasks that USB is asking to do.
  2. Some USBs on the computer aren't giving enough power, you may have a bad USB port, try another one.
  3. Use a Card Reader, which is much faster to download pictures than from the camera.
Reason: some times, the USB task is asking for a lot more power than is being supplied through the current USB path. You have to either add power through an adapter or plug directly in to a power source (like the computer directly, or a reader that doesn't require as much power to operate it).

This should help, if so, please mark as FixYa!

ThankYa!

Lens error

There is a possibility that a bit of grit or debris has got stuck in the retraction mechanism or the lens has been knocked out of alignment.

The camera will have switches inside to tell it when the lens is retracted or extended and if it doesn't make contact within the expected time then it will give this error.

If the there is no warrantee or you dont mind voiding it then I would suggest carefully disassembling the camera and turning the retraction motor by hand to see where the problem is.

Please comment again if you discover anything.

Good luck

CAMERA CARD

on desktop, go to "My computer" icon and open it. Look for your camera's drive letter and open that. You can use mouse drag and drop into or out of that drive letter's folders.

COOLPIX CAMERA 5200

You might be more successful if you provided a little more information. Is your computer a Windows PC or a MAC? Have you tried connecting the camera to the computer via the supplied USB cable? Assuming you're using a Windows machine, you can simply transfer the images using Windows file services, without needing to install any additional software. When you connect the camera to the computer via the USB cable, Windows recognizes the camera as a removable drive and assigns it a drive letter (e.g. drive G:). An icon for the "drive" appears in your MY COMPUTER window. (a) You double-click on the MY COMPUTER icon - (b) double-click on the drive ICON that represents your camera - (c) locate the folder where the image files are stored - (d) and simply drag the folder to your desktop (or wherever you want the images on your computer's hard drive). If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you need help with basic computer usage. If you're having a problem with the USB connection (e.g. the computer doesn't recognize the camera) then you should provide some more details about this problem.

Coolpix 5200 will not read sd card

Hope it's not the reader in the camera, first try rubbing the card contacts gently with an eraser and blowing in the slot. It may solve it, if not looks like an expensiver repair job.

Just purchased NIKON COOLPIX B500. I put in brand new Sandisk SD memory card And as soon as I shut the battery case the monitor says “this card cannot be used!” What’s up with that?

At the Time the Camera was made , Nikon lists a number of compatible memory cards. Each year both cameras and cards can read and write data faster. Cheap cards today can be read much faster than written. If any camera can take many photos in a short time, a slow cad will not allow the camera to operate as intended.

My Nikon b500 Coolpix won't turn on just flashes green

It flashes green when it is basically on but in a sub mode that I'll call CHARGE MODE. If it is flashing that means the battery is charging. I suggest to let it continue to charge until it stops flashing and then remove the charger connection. When the camera is sitting all by itself with nothing connected you can then turn it on.

The screen on my Coolpix 500 looks like a chemical was poured on it. It is not scratched, what can I do

Is it the screen, or the screen protector ? If the latter, just remove it and replace it. If it is the actual screen, first of all try a lint-free cloth barely dampened with distilled water, and test it on a corner, see if that works. On no account get the camera wet. If that is unsuccessful, try adding a very little diluted washing-up liquid, and try again. Should that not succeed, I would advise taking the camera to your local repair facility for their expert advice.
