Hi I 'm having trouble
Some printers are not happy being RE-FILLED. Which is a shame. Go find an origional NEW carterage and I'll bet it will be happy.
I don't have installation
Any drivers you need can be found on the lexmark website. Note that some printers need the software installed before hooking up the printer. I'd try to install the printer first. The software will tell you if the printer needs to be connected.

I cant install my lexmark
I would sugest that you click "ignore" and continue with the install if it will. You havent said which operating system you are using or if it is 32 bit or 64 bit or the model number of your printer, so I cant help much than give you general help. If you are using Windows 7 64bit you might have a problem if your printer is a couple of years old, as you cant use a 32 bit driver. I have found this to be the case with a number of printers and if you cant find the correct driver etc. from the web site try looking for a universal one on the site. You will need to know what your operating system is though. Normally windows 7 will find its own drivers but you might need the printer application software to set cartridge alignment etc. A nice email to lexmark support might help you source the correct package you need.

I have a laptop but
copy the cd to a usb storage device using other computer with optical drive then transport it to your laptop.
Printer has stopped working.
If the printer is no longer turning on, there is a power issue.
However if your printer is turned on and just unresponsive, try the following:
Go to > Start > Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware > Printers and Faxes >
Make sure your printer has a little check over it. (set to default)
If that doesn't work, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver for the machine.
(at the same time ensure your computer is virus free)
If all fails after the steps above, the machine is declared nonfunctional and went bad.
Hope this helps ya

Ask for a refund. Either that, or try to find a .iso of the installation disk online, burn it to a cd, and continue from there.
I have a Lexmark 7170,
Let me try to fix the printer first.
1. Go to control panel>printers and look at the icon of your printer. What does it have under it? Ready? Online? Offline? Is there a check mark for default printer? Right click the icon and select which option fixes it. Work online, make default printer, ETC. Click apply and then ok. Let me know if this gets you going and then I can try to give you some options on the cable. You can buy an adapter kit from Walamart that has different types of plugs to usb. Thanks for using FixYa and let me know what happens.

I need to install Lexmark
If you were to log on to the
manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as
usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer
Instruction Manuals, list
of Dealers and Driver
downloads
and instalation instruction as required.
Just Google the manufacturer's name and
follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's
web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they
charge for the information that is normally free of charge.
I hope this helps.

Select the ink cartridge specific to your printer. Canon inks are versatile, so your selection may be as simple as choosing between black, color or a multi-pack with black and color cartridges.
Turn on your Canon printer. The switch is generally located on the top right hand side of the printer. Open the printer's lid.
Wait a moment. The cartridge carrier will automatically disengage.
Put your hand behind the existing ink cartridge and pull the cartridge towards you until it pops out. Dispose of or recycle the used cartridge.
Carefully pull the tape off the new cartridge.
Position the new cartridge into the cartridge carrier. Make sure it is facing the correct position.
Press the cartridge carrier gently until it clicks into place. Some cartridges have indicators to demonstrate that they are properly positioned.
Close the printer's lid. Print a test page to ensure everything is working properly.
