check the simple things first:Do you have sound when a DVD ETC is connected via rear inputs for audio and video?Look to see if speakers in set are switched ON or OFF.Look to see if volume is down or very low both on the set and a box if one is used.If set has connections for external speakers is it set Internal or External.

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors.These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable,and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

This sounds like a problem with the power supply. Usually capacitors on the power supply board tend to dome, bulge or dry up. The damaged ones can be seen on the power supply circuit board when the back is removed. The dry ones have to be removed and tested. The caps can be replaced at a repair shop for around $200, but if the power supply board has to be replaced it can cost a little more. It all depends on the shops repair fees. But you could also have a bad main/control board which is where all the input jacks and tuner are mounted. These boards are more expensive, but not sure of the actual cost.

if this keeps on happening its a signal of the main board going bad and / or the screen going bad on the tv.

Try unplugging it wait 5 minutes holdd the power button while plugging it in see what it does

You may have lost the 24vdc due to bad caps, this 24vdc is used to power the backlight inverter baord, or you may have failed inverter board. Look for 24vdc first.

2. www.remotes.com will have your factory remote for htis unit.
