Denon 2910 CD player malfunctions

By this time I figure most peoples warranties are expired. So give this a try:

1 Open the case.
2 Turn the unit on and load a disk.
3 On top of the disk transport, you will see a black disk trying to spin as it reads the disk. You might notice that it is a bit quite as the display goes to 00H00M00S. It should be fast and a bit noisy.
4 Try loading a disk again, except this time, try to help that little black disk spin. It might take a couple of attempts, but I was able to get my 2910 working again.

The last year I've had to do this 2-3 times. But it works. From what little I have read, it may just be an issue with lubricating the right part with the right oil. I've narrowed my choices to PTFE 3n1 oil, Lithium oil, or silicone oil.

now I just need to find the right places to oil.

There should be quite a bit of noise and speed

The video output doesn't appear

double check to see if your cables are fully seated in their sockets, also if this still isn't helping try doing a manual check of the cables themselves your video cable might have gotten pinched and separated.

Denon Dvd-2910 only displays black and white on

Hello,

this is not a serious problem. It just has to do with visual compatibility.

Change the DVD display to Pal or NTSC and set that of the TV to Auto or pal.

You might find the PAL/NTSC on the DVD remote, or on the button of the DVD. If it is not there, then Check display settings of the DVD.

As for the TV, Change to Auto or Pal from display settings.

Take care.

Hi My denon does not read any discs at all. The

the whole assembly is sold for a reason.
it is almost impossible to align the laser without expensive equipment.
the disc motor has a small bearing on the top,put a drop of oil on it and spin the clamper until it is really free spinning.
disc motors are small and fragile,and can cause a no read situation from a slow spool up.

Dvd player not reading disc

http://forum.videohelp.com/topic350059.html

Some Home dvd players may not have any adjustment abilities, but you would find such things not too far away from the lense, if they don't exist, get a new unit.

There are two tiny surface-mount potentiometers (could be capacitors also) sitting in the small circuit on laser assembly.

this is exactly response I would like to hear - an expert opinion!

What I did with help of 1mm-wide screwdriver:

1) There were two surface-mount potentiometers marked with C1 and D. I tried first D. Turned it clock- and counterclockwise by about 45 degrees.
2) After each turn I opened and closed tray to force the player read DVD disc.
3) It did not help, "NO DISC", then I tried the same with C1, and again, no luck.
4) Finally, I came back to D and turned it by about 180 degrees in one direction. IT WORKED!!!

Moreover, player will now reads content of the DVD discs faster then before. sometimes manufacturer did not really adjust it properly and upon the time something has degraded, so players sometimes failed eventually.

Unlock Deno 2910

Hi,

Initially, pls try:
  • Verify that the tray is empty/no disc in the player;
  • Shut down/off with the front panel On/Off button and not the standby;
  • Press and hold the Open/Close, Play and Skip Reverse (I<<) buttons;
  • Maintain pressing on the above buttons and Power-ON the player with the On/Off button, (again while still holding the above buttons till the "Denon 2910" disappears from the display);
  • pls wait till LOADING completes and the front panel would display 0:00:00;
  • Using the remote control, enter 7, 3, 1, 9, 4, 6, 2, & 8;
  • The Denon 2910 will go into standby mode. Soon as it is on standby, pls press the Standby button on the front panel;
  • Pls verify region free update by pressing the Stop and Skip Forward (>>I) buttons on the front panel. The display would show “Region_Ax” The x would be the former region number that the Denon 2910 is locked into;
  • Should it not work ouot as expected, pls redo all the above steps.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Progressive scan problem

You need to clean your laser lens my friend. If that does not help, I'm afraid then that your laser assembly is going bad and on its last leg. The first clue to this is that you stated that the Cd's work and the DVDs do not work properly. The laser, when it gets weak, starts to mess up on the Dvds first but the Cd's will soon follow. Good Luck

Red goes out

How is the player attached to the TV set. If its with a scart cable or the R,G,B plugs, there is a loose connection in the cable or plug itself, or the connection inside the TV set or on the printed circuit board inside the DVD player. You should be able to make the problem happen by moving around the cables. if it does not, them maybe the TV set has a loose connection on the CRT socket or the player has a fault in the color demodulator circuit.

Denon X6700h has no power at all.

If there is a fuse, it will be on the power board, easy to spot, a glass cased fuse, or a small white ceramic fuse. Normally though, a 125,000 volts wrecks everything connected to power. https://www.google.com/search?q=Denon+X6700h+has+no+power ..
