We have an optoma dx 605 that won't turn on
It may not be...there is always a fuse in the power supply section that you can check to see. If you can remove the casing and locate the power supply you will see a fuse it is very close to where the power cord is connected at. If not capable you can at least invest in an hour labor for someone to let you know.
Need power supply unit
Optoma fixes all their own equipment. They have no dealers as far as I know...
This place says they can fix it. They may have parts. Offices in California and Georgia.
There is no picture when i hit the power. the lamp
Just from your description, the problem sounds like a "ballast" problem. That's the circuit that controls the lamp. It initially ignites the lamp and then keeps it burning. Just to be sure, remove the lamp and inspect it. There should be no dark spots on it or bulges, etc. Since you have a new lamp, chances are low that it would be bad--if possible, return to where you got it from and test your projector with a known-good lamp. Classic ballast failure symptoms are just what you described...Is the projector under warranty?? Normally the ballast is over 100 to several hundred dollars depending on make, model, etc...Rick
My dx605 projector's colors go haywire after 15 min of use
You should check the projector's settings to make sure you haven't accidentally altered the colors. Most computers allow for color distortion to be implemented on your display devices.
Go to Control panel, select personalization, and then click on Color Management. A number of profiles will emerge, and you will have to go through to make sure your color settings are correct. You should also go to your driver suite, which is provided by whomever manufactures your graphics card (ATI, Nvidia, or Intel), and check the color settings there, as they may have taken over the color control on your computer.
