JBL On Tour Computer Speakers Questions & Answers
How Dismantle jbl on tour
First you need to remove the sliding door. You can do this by opening it and lifitng one side with a screwdriver like on one of the pictures.
After that you can remove the battery cap and batteries.
Than you will need to remove the JBL logo. This is quite tricky. because it is glued. After that you can remove all the torx screws and open the device.

Hi I want to open
Its pretty late for your post....but today i repaired my jbl on tour...there are 7 screws to be removed. 2 on thre front upper side, remove the battery cover an you find the first two. then remove the jbl sign, theres another under it. its very hard to remove, i had to destroy my jbl sign. now you have to clip out the cover when you have slided it back, under the back side who was covered, are the last 4 screws. now the nasty part is coming: you cant open it, cause its glued all around. put at first a knife into the slot betwen the upper cover & the under cover, move it around the jbl on tour, but watch out that you damage no electronic parts, or cut off the battery cabel (as i did ;) ) and now you can open the device. my jbl looks really bad after, but it works fine (had issues with the current cable)
Just not working
Suggest that the internal amp is faulty, best to take to repair shop.

Problem with your JBL BoomBox2 speaker (or similiar) ?
Just found this out, after crazy searching & brainstorming.
So if your speaker suddenly goes silent or sound comes and goes, you can check this out:
At least the JBL BoomBox seems to have this integrated in its architecture so there's nothing we can do about it, complain to JBL : )
But to the problem: if the SOURCE of music/sound is too low, then the speaker may go into a "sleep mode" - silent. So ensure always your SOURCE of sound, connected to the speaker, has volume at least 80% to avoid this problem.
Hope this helps & no one needs to ditch and buy a new one ! : )
