this could be a large range of issue and too many to list for someone who may not be a skilled technician. I strongly suggest having a tech check it out as it may get into removing freon or more to make the repair. Sorry for the news.

Check to see how long it stays in the freeze cycle. normally it takes a least 20 minutes to make a batch. If less than that, you are probably loosing water causing an early harvest and almost no ice.

most of the time it is the water pump is going bad. It squeals real loud.

Look for a small button on the control board. just press it to reset.

First thing to check is the float switch. If stuck, it can cause it not to run.

Not real clear of your question but most machines have the control box in the compressor compartment. It has a switch that shows: Wash, Off, Ice. Your incoming electrical is on the rear of the machine. Hope this helps ya.

Replacing TXV

First question, why do you need to charge the system? Second is it a remote unit or self contained. Third do you have a set of refrigeration gauges? The best wau is to weigh the proper charge into the machine through the gauges. That varies depending if you are air cooled, water cooled or remote.

The valve that you turn to clean the area in between the plates has a small micro switch. This prevents the compressor from running in cleaning cycle. If the compressor is running, there is another issue.

first, freeze cycle too short because you are loosing water. Water may be leaking thru the dump valve. Look at drain while machine is running and see of alot of water is draining. The dump valve spring may be week or there is trash in the dump valve preventing it from seating properly. drain water first before pulling dump valve apart.

Usually a condition of low water in the tank. Other condition is the float switch is set wrong. Could have clogged water filters causing low water condition.

Motor usually trips out as it is overloaded. Check the rated amp draw on the replacement motor verses the OEM motor. OEM motors usually are built a little different to meet certain conditions in their design. You may need to get one. Also, make sure your condenser is very clean so as to not cause overloading the motor. Could have been the reason for the first one to fail.

In the freeze cycle too long. Usually about an hour. Several conditions can cause this. look for stuck float or constant water running even when machine is off. start there first.

Need to know the number of beeps as this is a code to tell you what went wrong with the machine.

Do not use test button. It test the functions of the board only. You have another issue. Need to know the number of beeps. Usually beeps a certain number of times, then hesitates,then beeps again.

Check your "Bin Stat". Power goes to the board from the bin stat. If bad, not power to board and machine does not run.

Sounds like the water valve is stuck. Probably needs replacing. Turn off water after machine shuts down and see if water stops. If it does, water valve is most likely the issue.

If you have the switch in the "Ice" position and the water pumps never comes on, but the pump runs in the "wash" position, it is most likely the switch itself. Seen this many times. Weird condition and most techs will replace the board first and not check the switch. Start there.
