Internal means inside. An internal battery is a battery located inside the device. To get to the battery one has to open a battery compartment or loosen some screws to remove the back.

I just had the same exact problem. We followed the leap pad recommendations for cleaning the stylus connection. Then we used a q-tip to clean the cartridge port and blew into it. Now it works.

Blow the cartridge opening out with a blowdryer.

it might be damp, try taking battries out of the unit then wrapping in a towel and leaving it in the hot water cubbord for a few days.

An RMA number would be provided to you by the customer service representative at Leapfrog Enterprises if you were sending back your LeapPad for repairs. RMA stands for Returned Merchandise Authorization.

It could be one of several things, a system reset, a firmware update but it sounds like a screen cable has become disconnected or similar fault. Before doing anything, is it still under warranty, if so its best to go back to the vendor or leapfrog and request an exchange. I really don't have the answer for you, but I can tell you I have the book Pooh gets stuck and mine is doing the same thing. I thought it was the cartriage and replaced it. Oddly the one I replaced it with skipps the same words. My book looks new so I wouldn't think it's the book, but I bought them used in the first place so I guess it may be the book. My leappad is playing everything else fine except The day Leap Ate Olives it is doing the same thing. They sell replacement books and cartriages on ebay for about $5-8 each so maybe that will help. If you get one that doesn't work contact the seller at least they will usually refund your money or send another one. Hope this helps some anyway: )
