Is your radio tuned for Hi ,Med. and Low power if not this is all you'll get..

Enter Galaxy DX33 HML manual (or user's manual) in your search bar, you should be able to pull up a pdf file on it. This is how I got my manual for my Galaxy 33DX HML radio.

could be a number of reasons but the first place to check is the mic then proceed from there.

Have you tried another mike? Power mike?

Could be , replace the driver and final ,see what happens .Then go from there.

if you have to ask you are not qualified to do it . Get a tech to do it so its done right.

if you are not a ham the you have to use the AM setting.

there should be no reason to tune it . Its just an extra that everyone thinks they need Now to turn it up is a different answer. Go to www.cbtricks.com they have the manual you will need to turn up the power and the modulation.

check the SWR and get it down to below a 2.0

have you played around with anything on the inside of the radio??? there are variables on the inside for hi and low power also hi and low modulation RF gain and the such if you turned the wrong one the wrong way,poof thats it. It can still be fixedbut not by you.

rf voltage do not use the mic.try another to see if it does the same thing .If it does then take it to a tech to have them check it out.

you played with it ,now take it to a tech and let him tune it for you.

the problem you now have is probably going to cost you more money to fix than the radio is worth. Could be a quick simple fix or you could be at it for hours trying to fix it. you will need a scope, frequency counter,watt meter, modulation meter, signal generator, volt meter,distortion meter,and a service manual from www.cbtricks.com

The hml has not been in production since 2006. If you Love that specific radio the first thing I suggest before attempting to tune or mod replace all the capacitors they may have leaked or dried up especially if left uncovered for a long period. But I would not bother when the galaxy 33hp2 updated the model with dual finals for under a couple hundred dollar. The radio is easily converted with info you could gain from here or a cb forum.
