My brother hl 5250dn says its offline. How do I get it back online? I am using windows 8.1

Since you mention internet issues that your carrier fixed, I'd look at your local router. The router provides IP numbers to all the devices in your home network and if its been replaced or even reset, its likely offering up a new (and different) ip number to your printer. Try creating another printer object on your windows computer and see if windows can find the Brother connection that way. Windows won't scan for a changed IP number on a printer its already configured. If that fails, you can use the router to show you all the devices it sees on your home network and check to be certain the printer is present. --jm

CP3525X printer will not print the black cartridge.

Your ink cartridge is low, empty or possibly clogged First step is to see will if it print a test page Go to Start, settings, printers. Right click on the printer, properties, print test page. If that doesn't work there should be a head cleaning option in properties that will make it clean the print heads. If there is still nothing after that then either it's badly clogged, low or out of ink, and needs to be replaced This may help Turn on the hot water until warm Put about 1/2 inches of water in a cup Put the print head portion (where the ink comes out) in for about a minute or two This will help to dissolve the clogged print head Dry off the cartridge using a soft tissue. Re-insert the cartridge into the printer. Run the normal cleaning software routine a few times Still having Problem Then follow Us For Brother Printer Support

As soon as I refill a propietry one or buy another I will be trying out my own suggestion. I would appreciate it if U can email me of any success U achieve & how U did to "[email protected]"

Blank pages

The following is courtesy of Brother:

To resolve blank prints, follow the steps below:

Brother strongly recommends that customers use only genuine Brother drum units and/or toner cartridges. Each Brother laser printer is designed to work at pre-set temperatures that are matched exactly to each of our individual toner formulations. Each individual component is designed to work with the other to ensure quality and reliability. Using non-Brother supplies may affect the hardware performance, print quality and machine reliability. The Brother limited warranty does not apply to any problem that is caused by the use of third party drum units, toner cartridges or toner.

To clean the laser glass follow the instructions listed below:

1. Turn off the Brother machine using the power switch located on the right side of the machine.

2. Unplug the power cord from the AC power outlet.

3. Open the front cover and remove the drum and toner assembly.

NOTE: We recommend you place the toner and drum assembly on a piece of paper in case you accidentally spill or scatter toner.

4. The laser glass is located inside the machine where the drum was installed. It is a piece of glass, about 1/2 inch wide and approximately 8 inches long, located on the ceiling of the inside of the printer. Gently wipe the glass with a clean soft DRY cloth. DO NOT use isopropyl alcohol or any liquid to clean the glass.

5. Place the drum and toner assembly back into the Brother machine.

6. Close the front cover making sure it latches on both sides.

7. Plug the machine back into the power outlet and turn on the power switch.

8. Test the machine by printing the Print Settings page. Press the GO button three times. The printer will print the current printer settings.

9. If the problem continues, perform a factory reset.

a. Turn off the printer.
