You need to replace the heater element located at the bottom rear of drum. Remove lower rear panel to gain access to it.

Where can the filter on the WT960 Hotpoint

can you expand a little, why are you asking this? do you mean the little strainers on the water coming into the machine (if you take off the inlet hoses you can see the metal mesh) Does your machine spray water into the drum during rinsing? If so, then there will be a pump to do this, and there will be a filter on the inlet to it. Should be near the base of the machine, hopefully there is a little plastic door which you can take off (may be behind the kick strip at the bottom of the front of the machine) and clean it out of all the hair clips and gunk. otherwise - can't think what filter you mean?

Hotpoint drum removal

The whole of the tub and drum assembly has to be removed and split down. If you have never done this before, I don't fancy your chances of success. Sorry to be negative

I have a hotpoint WF960 and the door lock will not release. It has clothes in it that I can't get out. The wash cycle has finished.

Have a Kenmore front loader that did same. Plastic linkage broke. Young service tech his tech support was unfamiliar with diagnosing the problem and then once understood advised that the unit could be damaged. With creative approach (from memory, removed part of the panel to access the latch to open door).

No water

check the valve on the back of the machine where the hoses connect. there should be a screen in the opening if it is clogged - remove it and try again.

My screen is showing F-04 AND NOT FINISHING CYCLE

f04 pressure switch not reading, likely cause is a blocked drainage filter, on the newer type bottom right hand corner behind the removable kickplate on the older type on the bottom on the drum inside the black rubber sump hose, remove the jubilee clip securing the hose to the tub to access and clean the filter

All lights up but not taking on water

not much to go on, What went bang? something in the machine or just the fuse? were you trying to dry? then that would be the heater coil. The fan blows air over a heater coil. You can see teh connections if you take the top off the machine, check the resistance to see if its gone. The cause is a blocked air filter upstream (its cleaned with water so you dont have to get the fluff off). Can you select a program at all?
