Where is the filter in

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Here are my complete and general guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

I wouold like to know where the filter is on the

Power off the mains. The filter is located behind the silver plate at the back of the machine at the bottom. Four screws hold it on. Drain out all the water. The filter is inside the big black rubber hose attached between the pump and the main drum. Remove the plastic clip holding it to the pump unit and then the metal cir clip holding it to the main drum. Inside is a white molded cone and a big white ball which floats. You will find a lot of junk here, clean out thoroughly. To refit put white cone back inside just as you found it, at the bottom, fit ball back into the cone. Attach to the bottom to the drum and re-fasten the cir clip. Finally reconnect the gator to the pump unit and tighten the plastic clip. Check out the pump too before reconnecting.

And rate me nice pl for the free help!

Hi our hotpoint wf541 starts its cycle as normal

hi i had the same problem.
its either your filter is blocked or your pump is not working.
after switching the power off, remove the front bottom panel of the machine and unscrew the filter cap on the right behind that panel. check it's intact and clean iside, if not clean it out or replace it and that should fix it. be careful screwing the filter cap back in and make sure its on tight.
to check your pump is working you can pull out the machine and check that water is coming out of the hose by putting it on the pump out / drain cycle after pouring in some water for it to pump out.

What's wrong with my washing machine (Aquarius

I am not a repair professional. I am a 78 year old man who has been making his own repairs for about 50 years. So the washer or dryer ID doesn't mean much to me. I came to fixya looking for a schematic for an really old AM/FM radio and found that more than 4,700 people were asking for help with a washer repair. I recently had a washer repair of my own and at that time I found an excellent video which showed me how to take my machine apart. This video made it possible for me to do my own repair. If you are repairing a dryer or a front load washer I suggest you
go to www.applianceaid.com where they have very good step by step trouble shooting and repair information on both washers and dryers as well as other appliances. If you have a direct drive top load washer and need help taking it apart this video is an early christmas present. I was so impressed with it that when I saw all these people needing help, I wanted to tell them about it. If you look at the back of your washer and the panel is solid (no small inspection plate to remove which would indicate you have a v-belt drive) chances are you have a direct drive and this video is just what you need. You can see it at www.acmehowto.com You will probably still need help in determining what the trouble is and how to fix it. After viewing the video or if you have a v-belt drive rather than a direct drive, I suggest you go to www.applianceaid.com where they have very good
trouble shooting and repair nformation on most
washers and dryers. I think you'll find what you need
there. Don't worry about the timer, they hardly ever
go bad. Good luck with it. If I have helped you, please rate my advice on fixya.

I have a Hotpooint WF000 front load washing

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!

If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning!

If these actions have not cured the problem, it could be the control board OR the main motor. Motors will show weaknesses when commanded to spin.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.

Horrible rumbling from back of

roy, it sounds like the bearings are completly worn out. Its not an easy repair and if you decide to repair it leave it to the service tech.

to fix this properly a full new back section and shaft is needed which can be pricey but if your machine is under 5 years aprox £100 will fix it through the hotpoint parts warenty.

if over 5years aprox £140 will fix it again through hotpoint.

hope this helps you out

You are going to have to wait until the new heater is fitted beore being able to tell if there is another fault.

I have got a Hotpoint

there could be something stuck between the inner and outer drum, eg. a bra wire a common culprit.
inside the drum you have 3 lifters ( blue pillars). remove one of these by pulling it towards you.this will allow you to see into the inner drum. get a flash lamp and have a good look rotating the inner drum around.
if you see anything get a pair of pliers to pull in out as you cant get a nasty cut.
replace lifter as u removed it.
if bearings were gone would sound like a tractor while spinning.

F-07 flashing on display

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

For most Hotpoint (and other named) models 'F07' means 'heater relay (possibly) stuck'. 'Check power supply connections to the heater, wiring and module (i.e. PCB) connections' (apparently poor PCB connections are often the cause)
Good luck,
